A Day of Healing, Restoration, and Transformation! The upcoming DIVA Project outreach event in October culminates the 11-year anniversary of the DIVA Project – healing, restoring, and transforming the lives of women victims of domestic violence – changing the world, one diva at a time.
Since 2004, the DIVA Project has partnered with local transitional facilities in Baltimore, Maryland mainly House of Ruth, Maryland life Crisis Centre to provide victims of domestic violence wellness services, workshops, and counseling centered on restoring beauty from the inside out. Over the years, participants have received hair and beauty services to uplift them on the outside and heard from guest speakers who shared information and resources to uplift participants on the inside. As with past outreach events, this final DIVA Project of 2015 will deliver services and resources for the mind, body, and spirit. The success of the last 10 years of serving Baltimore with this outreach has been made possible by the many business sponsors, community leaders, and local supporters of the DIVA Project, including beauty experts, motivational speakers, and a host of volunteers.
The upcoming outreach will take place on Sunday, October 25, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at The Union Mill, 1500 Union Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21211. Donations to support this outreach are welcomed, and local media is encouraged to cover this event. The DIVA Project is the vision of entrepreneur and philanthropist, Cindy Tawiah, who is committed to promoting whole body wellness through her business and outreach efforts. Ms. Tawiah is passionate about wellness and empowering women of all walks of life and seeks to expand the DIVA Project model to other major U.S. cities.
To continue this work and expand beyond Baltimore, the DIVA Project needs major support. Join the effort! Help break the chains that imprison victims of domestic violence and help begin the healing. We need widespread attention and awareness on the domestic violence epidemic and the perils that victims of domestic violence face. The DIVA Project encourages business sponsors, supporters, and volunteers to give to this worthy cause and help us bring this outreach to your city.
There is no greater privilege granted to man than that of prayer . In the providence God , prayer is the means of our success ; it has been made the avenue through which we may receive blessings that would not otherwise be given us . Appeals , petitions, and entreaties between man and man are able to move men and act a part in controlling the affairs of nations ; but prayer moves heaven . God Bless You All and I hope everyone have a Bless weekend
Though there were thousands of man who were crucified , only the crucifixion of the sinless Son of God was worthy to be part of God's eternal plan for man's salvation . The cross should be a constant reminder to each of us the goodness of God in allowing His only Son to die in that manner and , especially , to die in our place . There is only one reason....you ! He gave His life for you--and fro me .So each of us is personally responsible for receiving or rejecting God's offer of cleansing from our sins .
That there was no more need for bloodshed . Never again would innocent lambs have to be sacrificed to atone for man's sin as had been done in OLD Testament times . The blood flow was finished . Our salvation had been paid for in full .
Throw away all trust in your own goodness. Look to the cross of Jesus Christ. See Him who suffered the agony of the condemned in your place , who received from His own Father the penalty we deserve and then rose from the dead. Christ Himself' bore our sins in His own body on the cross '' ( 1 Peter 2;24 ). Transfer all of your hopes from what you have done to what He has done for you at Calvary . Place your trust in Him alone . '' He that hath the Son hath life ; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life . These things have I written unto you.....that ye may Know. that ye have eternal life '' ( John 5: 12 , 13 ) .
