Nowadays, videographers or vloggers have so many options to choose from when it comes to creating stabilized video footage. On one hand, you have the action cameras such as the GoPro Hero 7 Black and the DJI Osmo Action that offer digitally stabilized footage. Fire suppression pipe is a kind of normal carbon steel pipe for conveying water, gas and other fire suppression agents. It's usually in red. But the exterior of the light-wall pipes is galvanized silvery. Installation of red steel pipe is only to be used as wet sprinkler system. Finished Paludarium Appreciation

In the beginning, some hydroponic plants were cultivated in the water grass tank. Later, I wondered if it would be better to plant some wet plants on the water. I searched a lot of information on the Internet, so then the aquascaping journey began.

I believe everyone has a certain understanding of planted tanks and water tanks. But Paludarium that can both keep plants and raise fish is not so simple.

The first thing to consider is how to isolate the water surface from the land and try to maintain the size of the water substance as much as possible.

It was known that most of the Paludarium tanks' water substances are just a small piece you saw before, and there is less space for fish to move. If they can be improved, they can both raise fish and landscape plants. After considering several methods and materials, it was finally decided to choose a partition tank divider commonly used by everyone in the Vivarium to build a base, which was quite successful.

This kind of partition board divider can play a great role in the landscaping of the fish tank. In this Paludarium fish tank, its fast, convenient and practical functions are highlighted.

Firstly, splice the head and tail of the partition board together, and then cut the partition board into an appropriate size according to the fish tank. And as a base, place it at the bottom of the fish tank.

Then you can spread a layer of foam plastic on the partition to prevent the mud from falling through to the bottom and spreading.

Then in this order, you can lay the material on the partition:

From bottom to top:

Volcanic Stone, Light Stone, Thin Filter Sponge, Foam Plastic Cloth, Water Moss, Planting Soil (Peat soil, Vermiculite, Perlite)

After the foundation is done, the Dynasty Jade Stone can be gently inserted into the soil. Moss and other plants can be placed around it.

Here I put Leucobryum juniperoideum, Giraldiella levieri, Metasequoia glyptostroboides, Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides, Ferns and so on. The sticking tool I use is Aquarium Underwater Safe Glue.

When all the steps are completed, pour the water slowly into the blank space along the edge of the fish tank. (Note: Do not use the impact water flow here, It will lead to soil base damage.)

Finally,  the fixed steps we know - water circulation, water purification. (Here is the same treatment as the general fish tank)

When the water quality of the fish tank is acceptable, you can put the cute fish in it.

1. It is best to turn off the Surface Oil Skimmer when trimming

Foreground grasses, such as cow Eleocharis parvula, Hemianthus callitrichoides 'Cuba', and Glossostigma elatinoides, have a lower density than water, and there will be a lot of debris floating on the water when trimming. The debris is likely to enter from the surface skimmer into the filter cartridge, causing excessive accumulation of debris or even clogging.

Even though it is not immediately blocked, if too many aquatic debris rots in the dark and dull filter cartridge, it will also pollute the water quality. And at the same time, it will cause the filter cartridge flow to decrease, and the filtering effect will be significantly reduced. Therefore, before trimming, it is best to temporarily turn off the surface skimmer device, generally only need to lower the central screw.

2. When trimming, cannot cut too much at once

It is recommended that novices only trim one-third of the entire area at a time. The plants that have been trimmed will grow new shoots and then trim the other two-thirds in turn. This can keep the entire grass tank in a very stable state, avoiding the aquatic environment balance outbreaks due to the loss of too many opposite competitors. And if divided into three times, the labor intensity will not be too large each time. You can trim in the order of left, middle, and right; Or you can trim the background grass first, then the middle grass, and finally the foreground grass. This method has the least impact on the aquarium's viewing.

It is not recommended to trim the foreground grass if there are a lot of tall and lush grasses in the tank, because it will block the light. More experienced fish lovers can trim all the plants in two times, and master-level players can trim all the plants at once. (Novice is not recommended to imitate)

3. When trimming, should be gentle and careful

Except for a few species, aquatic plants are very vulnerable. Any excessive twisting or squeezing may cause irreversible damage to the stems and leaves of water plants.

An important reason for the partial black stems of the Rotala Rotundifoliavar. Gontin is that the stems have been bent by external forces (human hands, water currents, fish, etc.) to an angle that may cause a partial fracture. However., aquatic plants have a certain ability to repair themselves. Usually, a large number of air roots grow at one or more stems folding nodes above the crease. At the same time, the crease area is likely to turn black, then rot, and finally break.

An often overlooked detail is that when a stem grass is cut off from the middle, if replanting, the upper half needs to be taken out of the water, so it is likely to twist into a large angle. Not as good as just directly plant it in the water.

4. Do not turn off the filter when trimming

This is a matter of subjective opinion. Some people advocate that the filter should be turned off during trimming. One of the reasons is that they are afraid of the strong water that blows the plant debris to the tank, which is difficult to clean; Another reason is that they need to change the water anyway after trimming, so it doesn't matter if the water is messy or turbid now.

However, from the perspective of protecting, turning off the filter during trimming will have an adverse effect on the organisms.

After the water flow is interrupted, one is that it will cause a short period of hypoxia in the aquatic organisms, and the other is that the toxic and harmful substances in the churned bottom will not only be muddy if it is not immediately sucked away by the filter, it will also cause serious harm to organisms such as shrimp, snails, which is why they often die after large trimming.

In contrast, fish are much more resistant, but fragile fish such as Siamese algae eater and Dwarf sucking catfish should also pay attention to it. Once you find its head floating, it must be fished out and keep it in another tank, or use an air pump for oxygen.

Last month, I introduced many of you to “Happy Black Girl Day!”, a holiday created by Brooklyn diva extraordinaire and fellow blogger Sister Toldja. This once-a-month holiday allows us to take a break from the constant media assault on Black women and celebrate the sisterhood with showers
of positivity. The way I choose to celebrate HBGD is by highlighting
an extraordinary and prototypical Black woman.

April’s Prototype: Congresswoman Donna Edwards, Representative for Maryland’s 4th District

When I met Congresswoman Edwards at a Christmas party in 2009, I was immediately struck by her optimism in the face of such partisanship and political ugliness surrounding all things Obama, and to a lesser
degree, all things Democratic. With passion radiating from her being,
we talked of the stimulus package, the bailouts, and of course, the
hottest topic of the year, health care reform. At a time when the
possibility of real reform seemed fleeting, she was convincingly
confident that Obama would sign comprehensive reform into law soon:
“These are all things that need to be done for the American people, and
we’re going to get it done.” And just a few short months later, they
did.

It is obvious that Edwards loves what she does. So when she graciously granted me an interview recently, the first question I asked her was: When did you fall in love with politics?
