Blended Families

Ever since my first production of this stage play about Blended Families, the phone hasn't stopped ringing, the questions and comments has never stopped coming. To my dismay, there are millions of people, marriages and relationships going through this very issue. Believe me when I tell you, many of marriages and relationships has been destroyed due to the inability to properly communicate in a house hold with non biological children; AKA being the (step father or mother).

According to the U.S. census bureau, there are 500,000 adults who become step parents every year. There are 6.4 million children across the country living in a home with one birth parent and one step parent. This is not a black or white issue, this subject is universal to all people of diversity.

There are always two sides to every story; the problem is that each has a point of view and neither one is willing to budge or compromise. However when one is loving and mature enough to try and compromise; the other one is selfish, lost in pure darkness with the concept that it is either my way or I don't need you.

Men - you have got to understand that respect comes from respect. When you enter into a relationship with a woman who has one or more children; the first thing you need to do is approach with knowledge, wisdom and understanding. To the kids you are invading their territory, which also includes their mother. When the time permits, genuinely try to get to know them and establish a true bond also showing respect for their feelings. As a man, you have got to lead first by example and not come down to the level of a child. Expect some resistance, but over come it with love and understanding. If you truly love the woman that you're with, you will also realize that you have to love her children too because they are a part of her.

Women - unfortunately you do not get to choose when a man is or isn't the man in the home. Like wise you have got to show some extra love and respect for a man who is willing to step in and assume the position; considering the majority of absent fathers seem to care less about you or the well being of their own kids. Recognize that kids are smarter these days and on a whole new level, easily they know how to play parent against parent. If you have a good husband or man that is taking care of home, don't be fooled into thinking there is more of a problem than it really is. You have got to back and support the decisions that your man makes especially when it pertains to the kids. When you undermine his authority and decisions, you are teaching the kids they don't have to respect him either. Of course they are not going to like when he disciplines or tells them what to do sometimes; however you’re the most important link that has to build this bond and unite the family. Remember, “A house divided against it self can not stand” and “how can two walk together except they agree”. This is sound scripture.
Solution - Keep GOD first. Do you realize how many people are married and in relationships who haven't even experienced true unconditional agape love. That is the love of GOD and the love that we should have for each another. Even though GOD has that love for us, you have got to have a relationship with him to experience it. Case and point; have you ever been in a relationship with some one and given that person all of your heart, I mean your everything, but the love has never been reciprocated back? All they do is lie and cheat, use and abuse your love and play on your emotions; well now you know how GOD feels, yet he continues to love us any way.

Start with forgiving each other which is one of GODS most loving attributes. For GOD so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. He did that because he forgave us and continues to do so. Learn to love, honor, cherish and respect each other. This includes each other's opinion and GOD given authority and role in the home. To deny love and it's ability to conquer all, is to deny GODS love and it's ability to do what he has done; including to reconcile us back to him through our LORD and savior JESUS CHRIST.

I hope everyone will come out to see this new stage play production because it is a very powerful message that conveys all points of view's. Please tell everyone you know about it and continue to spread the word; believe me this is a story you don't want to miss!

Frankincense is considered the "holy anointing oil" in the Middle East and has been used in religious ceremonies for thousands of years.
