要说2020上半年有什么未解之谜，康奈尔大学的录取数据肯定得算一个，但这个谜在几天前已经解开了。
今年的Ivy Day（常春藤放榜日）提前到了3月26日，本是八所藤校集体放榜的日子，结果康奈尔大学却缺席，一直未能公布具体的录取数据。
这一拖就是小半年，虽然康奈尔在开学方式上一直有动作，但录取数据却一直没动静。就在在大家怀疑康奈尔要像斯坦福一样不公布数据之时，2024届录取数据却横空出世，宣告着“康奈尔可能会迟到，但绝不会缺席”。
根据学校发布的消息，2024届康奈尔大学共收到了51500份申请，比去年多了2000份。学校的最终录取率为10.7%，（作为参考，去年录取率为10.9%）有轻微下降。
可以看出，在藤校中，康奈尔历年录取率算比较高的。对于今年录取数据的推迟发布，校方解释：为了防止公布的数据干扰学生的选择，学校第一次决定将录取数据推迟到夏末发布。
数据显示，今年康奈尔国际学生人数轻微下降了不到1%；秋季转学的学生人数比去年增加了134人。
虽然录取数据拖延了这么久，但在开学计划上，康奈尔大学十分积极，早在6月底就公布了今年的秋季入学安排。
此外，学校也很早就推出了Study Away计划，国际学生将可以在他们所在国家或地区的本地大学校园内生活和学习，与康奈尔校友一起参加线上和线下课程，并享受本地大学的设施和服务。

考试作弊是留学生中较为常见的问题。由于北美新冠疫情严重，不少美国大学也都作出了停课通知，宣布所有课程调整为在家上网课的形式，因此大部分考试也变成了网考。不少学生因为作业太多、课程太难、压力太大，所以抱着侥幸心理，利用Chegg进行远程考试作弊，踏足美国大学学术禁区。在疫情期间，学生作弊被抓出现的频率是只增不减。下面就让求真老师带你分析面对考试作弊被抓，应该如何应对吧。
1、如果情节不严重，教授不上报学校，学生选择服从处罚，那么学生当次考试记零分，且此科目的成绩最后在成绩单上记为F，事情就此作罢。
2、教授选择上报学校，由学校给出处分结果。一般有四种处分类型：学术警告（Warning）、留校察看（Probation）、学术停学（Suspension）以及学术开除（Dismissal）。美国大学非常注重学术诚信，所以对远程考试作弊的判罚非常严重，一般会给予学术停学或者开除的处分。
考试作弊一般分为主动作弊和被动作弊两种类型。
主动作弊指的是学生通过夹带参考资料、和同学交流考试题目、上Chegg等网站搜索答案等等有意为之的行为。被动作弊指的是学生无意间触犯了学校关于作弊的诚信条例。例如教授提前说明学生在考试时可以参考自己的书本、笔记或者规定的材料，但是不可以参考网上的来源。很多同学没了解清楚，不小心参考了网上的答案，最后被判定为作弊。
利用Chegg进行远程考试作弊属于主动作弊，惩罚后果会比被动作弊更严重。再加上教授一般会直接和Chegg联系，调取学生的登录时间、浏览记录等等细节，通过对比学生考试的答案和参考答案、其他学生的答案以及学生之前的作业，来判断重复率是否过高。
Chegg作弊可以说是证据确凿，教授会认为学生作弊的主观性较强，无视学校考试规定和学术不端条例，这就是Chegg作弊一般会作出严重处分的原因。所以学生不要认为远程考试作弊就是天高皇帝远，教授抓不到，疫情期间如果碰到学术上的困难，也千万不要陷入学术不端的泥潭，建议向求真教育的学术辅导中心进行咨询。
1、如果情节轻微，可以根据教授或者学校给出的处罚决定，判断事情的严重性，再采取相应的措施及时止损即可。
2、如果情节严重，学校给予停学或者开除的处分，学生需要在短时间内撰写出高质量的申诉信，做好开听证会的准备，争取改变学校的决定，降低处分。
3、如果申诉无效被停学或者开除，可能会导致I20失效，学生需要立即办理紧急转学，先保住在美国的合法身份，再争取申请其他学校。

山火年年有，今年特别凶。今年的山火来的早了一些，而且规模比以往也大一些。加州气候干燥，晴多雨少，成片的山林枯草，一点就燃。
一样的山火，不同的起因，这一次山火就是由闪电击中树木所引起的，在过去一周时间，整个加州范围内就出现约600处起火点。

山火蔓延超4000平方公里，暂无停止迹象
目前火势蔓延超过4000平方公里，覆盖面积超过五个纽约市，纳帕县和圣克拉拉县的大火已经成为加州历史上规模第二、第三大的火灾。
虽然山火年年有，在这待了一段时间的朋友们可能也见怪不怪了，但我觉得还是有必要做好应对预防措施，做到战略上藐视敌人，战术上重视敌人。
今天分享一下我个人总结的三大预防措施，同时在本文最下方，我们结合了美国红十字会的指南，给大家整理了收到疏散警报时，针对留学党最实用的撤离准备清单。这份清单不仅仅只针对山火，也适用于地震、洪水、飓风等常见自然灾害，根据不同情况和我们手边有的准备时间，分为四个版本：15分钟、30分钟、1小时和2小时以上，大家根据实际情况自由选择，也欢迎留言补充。

我常年都会准备应急包，就是为了应对各种紧急情况，拿起来就可以跑路。应急包一定要放在靠近自己的地方、容易拿到的地方。
应急包 准备清单
1.简单的换洗衣服和太空毯
2.现金、ID（护照）、钥匙、备用眼镜、I-20
3.简单化妆品、免洗消毒液、日用品、纸巾
4.自我防卫物品、紧急医疗用品、常用药及正在服用的处方药和特殊必备药品，如哮喘喷雾
5.防毒面具、口罩、电池、应急灯、常用充电器、瑞士军刀等小工具
6.饮用水和干粮，如有宠物，不要忘记宠物的口粮
一、提前了解家中紧急出口位置，规划最优撤离路线
大家最好准备两到三个路线，如果是住宿舍、公寓的同学，要提前了解紧急出口以及疏散路线。如果家中自带车库，以我家为例，最优出口就是车库，遇到紧急情况可以直接把车开走。如果车库无法逃离，那我就要走前门。如果前门、后门都出不去，我就要从二楼阳台往下跳。落点是水泥地还是草地，都要考虑到。
准备工作除了制定路线，还要保持撤离动线畅通，杂物越少越好。为什么呢，因为考虑到灾害来临时，场面极度混乱，很有可能已经断电，如果再被杂物绊倒、摔倒甚至受伤，会更加慌乱，增大撤离难度，很难保证撤离方案的可执行性。灾难发生时，第一时间的反应速度和有效自救措施非常重要！
很多朋友会问，断电了，我怎么开车库门？其实车库门是可以手动打开的。大家可以根据车库门的型号，查阅说明书，手动操作一下，提前做好准备。
如果情况实在紧急，车库门又打不开，那也可以开车把大门顶开，视具体情况而定。但是你在脑海中要进行演练，遇见各种情况怎么去处理，不要惊慌。
二、制定、预演撤离方案！
在时间充裕、条件允许的情况下，以承受最小损失为前提。如何安全、快速地转移家人、宠物以及贵重物品非常重要。
如果你是单身狗，又是一个人住，那么你的撤离方案会非常简单！一人逃离，全家放心。因为遇到大火警报时，你需要负担和考虑的事情就少很多。
但是如果和我一样，家里人口众多——我和邓总、狗儿子Hana、三只小猫和两条小鱼，一共八个活物。
遇到紧急情况，我们需要及时做出反应，这就要求我们提前做好预案，怎么把家里的四个主子弄出去，谁抱哪一只，怎么抱，这都要事先安排好、演习一遍。
我们准备的应急包是双肩包，这样我们可以一手夹一只，四个主子都能带走。那两条小鱼怎么办？
经过我们家不记名投票通过的应急处理方案，在特别紧急的时刻，我们不会带这两条鱼走——大不了回来吃沸腾鱼。所以最近这两天我对小鱼疼爱有加，除了一般鱼粮，还喂了些小虾，想吃点啥就吃点啥。
你们要相信我，这是一个肝肠寸断的决定，但是，还是那句话，制定方案时大家要考虑到各种情况，确保在危机当下只需执行既定方案，而不是犹豫不决，浪费宝贵时间做选择题。
再和大家透露一下，我在不记名投票中，得票排名倒数第二，也就是说抛弃完鱼紧接着就抛弃我，反正四个主子是一个都不能少。

三、不打无准备之仗！撤离去哪儿要想好！
如果有时间准备的话，有车的朋友一定要把车加满油，没车的朋友一定要联系上有车的朋友寻求帮助，有了交通工具，我们撤离的范围就大很多。像我今天收到了疏散警报，虽然只是预警，但我还是会把油先加满。
因为一旦出现紧急情况，大家都要开车跑路，加油站肯定排长队。而且在这种时候，越早上高速越好。那上了高速之后要去哪？有几个选择：就近的避难中心、酒店和朋友家。
考虑到疫情仍在蔓延，能去朋友家借宿的就不要去酒店，能去酒店的就不要去避难中心。平时去朋友家做客的时候，一定要把对方家里的情况了解透透透透的，以备不时之需。交朋友，就要多结交像我这样的老实人，不会回绝人。
还是那句话，做好准备，脸皮要厚，能力要够，我们的目的是开了口就不给人回绝的机会。同时呢，也要根据灾害的种类，结合朋友家的地理环境去考虑去谁家蹭吃蹭住。比如最近山火，住的离山近的朋友我们就可以暂时不联系了。
包括我自己家后面就是山，所以总是收到疏散警报。我发一个朋友圈：“山火肆虐，欢迎疏散撤离没地方住的朋友来借宿。”结果连个点赞的都没有，你看我的朋友圈，都是机智的人。
多说一句，我有个朋友小宇，前两年从湾区搬去西雅图了，天天朋友圈九宫格晒娃，一般按照我的常规操作就直接拉黑了。但是考虑到西雅图一年有一半的时间在下雨，绝对没山火，我至今保留着他做我的好友。就像古人说的，微信留一线，山火好相见。

1、GPA：GPA的高低基本决定了学生申请院校的层次，也是招生官判断学生学术能力的一个重要参考标准。所以GPA是越高越好，因此学生在大学期间对每一节课都不能掉以轻心，可能你的高GPA就能让你脱颖而出。
2、托福：一般来说，美国研究生留学申请都要求学生提交语言成绩，有的学校对托福成绩还有分数要求，所以建议每个学生尽量刷高托福成绩。
