What is Rock Tunneling

The operation of drill jumbo tunneling for driving rock in rock strata.

 

Before the 17th century, rock roadway was mainly excavated by hand. Subsequently, the tunneling speed was improved by using artificial drilling, black powder blasting, manual rock loading and wooden shed support. In the late 19th century, hand-held rock drills, mining explosives and blasting accessories appeared in Europe. The method of drilling and blasting has developed into the main mean of modern rock tunneling.

 

In modern times, tunneling method of combining the mechanical breaking of rock with combined road header for simultaneous operation of mucking has been adopted, and the driving speed has been greatly improved. Rock tunnel driving operation modes:

① Parallel operation of tunneling and support;

② Single operation of tunneling and support. Generally, the rock roadway driving adopts once-tunneling technique, namely tunneling, supporting and ditch are completed in one time. When possible, the track laying works shall also be completed at the same time.

 

The main operation of drill jumbo tunneling is drilling, blasting and rock loading transportation. When the rock stratum is not stable enough, support is needed. The commonly used rock drills for rock drilling and blasting are hand-held rock drills, air-leg rock drills and guide rock drills. There are three kinds of power: pneumatic, electric and hydraulic.

According to the section size and rock hardness of the rock roadway, several blast holes are arranged on the working face. After blasting, local fan and air duct shall be used for ventilation to remove smoke.

Enzyme

What is enzyme purification?

 

Enzymes are biologically-catalyzed proteins produced by the metabolism of microorganisms and thus have poor heat sensitivity and are not resistant to high temperatures. However, the traditional process mainly concentrates the enzyme preparation by depressurization and concentration, which leads to the prominent problems of high energy consumption, high enzyme deactivation rate, high cost, low yield and multiple ash, which makes the product market less competitive.

Installation and Use of Drill Bits

The drill bit opener is a cutting tool used by general drills or drilling machines to cut out circular holes. The basic principle of the bit is to make the bit cut and rotate, cut the workpiece, and then remove the cuttings from the drilling groove.

 

The commonly used bits are twist drill, flat drill, center drill, deep hole drill and trepanning drill. Although reamer and countersink drill can't drill on solid material, they are also traditionally classified as drills.

 

Installation of drill bit opener: Slowly lift the drill box and put the four legs of the drill box into the four holes of the rotary table of the drill. According to the specification of bit cutting, select the corresponding core plate of bit box. Put the core plate of the lifting bit box into the bit box, and then match the bit groove to be installed with the convex point of the core plate of the bit box. Put the drill bit into the drill box, and the drill bit is stuck in the center of the rotary table. Then screw on the drill bit in turn to connect the nut drill pipe.

 

Disassemble of bit: lift the drill pipe (with drill bit), and connect the drill box with the rotary table. Lift the drill pipe slowly so that the bit groove can correspond to the convex tip of the core plate of the bit box. Clamp the drill bit in the drill bit box and remove the drill pipe and drill bit in turn.

 

The drill bit shall be packed in a special packing box to avoid vibration and collision. When it is used, the drill bit taken out of the packing box shall be installed in the spring collet of the spindle or the tool library of automatic bit replacement. Put it into the box after use.

The newly built 1 million ton vacuum salt brine refining plant has a total of 2 floors with a size of 9m × 40m.

 

Technology introduction:

Brine from outside battery limit goes into reaction tank by brine pump after heated by steam mixer. Refining agent sodium hypochlorite,sodium carbonate and sodium hydroxide are added into the baffle tank where brine enters reaction tank.

 

After finishing dosing, crude brine is formed in the reaction tank. Sodium hypochlorite oxidizes and decomposes organic matters in the crude brine, and sodium carbonate reacts with calcium ions in the crude brine to form crystal precipitates of calcium carbonate, sodium hydroxide reacts with the magnesium ions in the crude brine to form a colloid precipitate of magnesium hydroxide. The crude brine completes the refining reaction and flows into the middle tank by gravity, and is sent to ceramic membrane filtration unit by feed pump after more than 1.0mm of mechanical impurities inside crude brine are removed by a coarse filter.

The inorganic membrane filtration unit adopts three-stage series "cross-flow filtration" mode. Crude brine pumped by feed pump is sent to the first stage filtering module through circulation pump and then concentrate coming from the first stage filtering module goes into the second filtering module, finally concentrate coming from the second stage filtering module goes into the third filtering module.

 

A small part of concentrated brine is discharged into salt sludge tank according to a certain proportion and concentration where flows out from the third filtering module outlet and the rest returns circulation pump inlet and mixes with crude brine send by a feed pump, which the ratio of solid-liquid of feed brine is got to adjust. The mixed brine flows into circulation pump inlet and starts a new cycle filtration through circulation pump which concentrates solid content is controlled and membrane velocity is also ensured.

 

Purified brine filtered by three-stage filtering modules is collected through permeate outlet of each filtering module and sent to make second brine purification by primary brine pump after mixing with sodium sulfite in the refining tank.

Antibiotics Fermentation Broth Clarification

Cephalosporin

Cephalosporin is the second class of β-Lactamase found in nature following by penicillin. Any of various broad-spectrum antibiotics, closely related to the penicillins, which were originally derived from the fungus Cephalosporium acremonium. It has many advantages of high efficiency, broad-spectrum, low toxicity and enzyme-resistance which has been developed four new products to its range. It belongs to superior antibiotics that its application is growing widely. Advanced production technique is very pressing to meet brisk demands of the market both domestically and internationally. Cephalosporin C, or simply as CPC, is the source of original nuclear(7-amino cephalosporanic acid)of various cephalosporium antibiotic.

 

During the production of CPC, frame filter press, rotate vacuum drum filter are still used as a means of separation to remove protein, mycelium, and solid particulates. The technical means available on site did not achieve satisfactory degrees of separation. Meanwhile, those methods are unable to separate the massive existences of soluble protein, macro-molecule organic matters from the broth. The filtered broth shows not high transmittance with residual insolubility and soluble impurities which would increase the difficulty in the downstream extraction process and have a bad effect on the quality and yield of final product. According to market adjusting, some companies are asked to improve separation performance by means of membrane technology and to reduce the product losses. With the wide applications of ceramic membranes, they will play a significant role in separation and purification of antibiotics.

 

Three steps are introduced in order to guarantee the yield of CPC in the process of filtrate fermentation broth for the production of CPC by ceramic membranes. Pre-concentration step is made to let feed volume Vo concentrate to Vd and permeates are obtained meanwhile; diafiltration step is to add cleaning agents in the wanted liquids while filtration and effective ingredients are got to reach a high yield ; post-concentration step is to concentrate wanted liquids to Ve aiming to treat residuals conveniently and improve yield further.

 

Ceramic membrane filtration system could intercept protein and solid particulates from the untreated antibiotic fermentation broth. The protein –removing the capability of this technology is 10 times as much as that of the original process, with filtration yield increasing by 6%. The attenuation range of membrane flow rate is narrow and thus a better product quality can be obtained.

 

The temperature of CPC fermentation broth from the fermented process drops to 10 below zero and it is acidified to pH2.5-3.0 by the use of hydrofluoric acid.

 

Then CPC clarity is got due to removing mycelium, suspended solids, and macromolecular protein through the filtration process. In the next refining process, macroporous resin adsorption and ion-exchange are applied, and then nanofiltration and reverse osmosis are also used to obtain concentrated CPC.

Degreasing Liquid Treatment

Degreasing process is a necessary step before any other processing in mechanical industry, in the steel industry and generally speaking in the transformation of raw materials.

 

Degreasing treatment is performed with aid of an aqueous solution containing detergents.

 

The detergents emulsify oil present on the material to be treated; for this reason, oil concentration tends to increase in degreasing baths until the need for renewal and/or replacement, to avoid loss of efficacy.

 

Using ceramic membrane technology, there has two fluids, one is permeated which is constituted by water and detergents present in the original bath, the other is concentrate which contains oils and suspended solids and that is back to oil removal tank. The emulsion oil in the waste liquid is subjected to demulsification to reduce the amount of surfactant used in the cleaning solution.

 

Separation principle

Selecting the appropriate ceramic membrane filtration precision, by utilizing the characteristics that oil molecules and water molecules differ by tens of times in size and hydrophilic membrane surface properties of ceramic membrane, oil molecules can be effectively rejected, and water, degreasing bath, and surfactant small molecules can be recycled through the membrane surface. The degreasing bath is concentrated by the ceramic membrane system, and the volume of the discharged waste liquid is greatly reduced.
