2.Introduction of All trans-Retinal
All-trans-Retinal (Retinaldehyde, RAL), also known as vitamin A aldehyde, is retinol oxidized derivatives, It is produced by oxidation fracture of beta-carotene, which is reduced to retinol and oxidized to retinoic acid. Retinoic acid has A wide range of functions in skin diseases, but due to local stimulation, Its clinical application was limited. Retinal is an intermediate metabolite of natural retinoic acid, which bio-activity is similar to retinoic acid, and the skin is significantly more resistant to it than retinoic acid.
The application of A large number of non-physiological doses of exogenous retinoic acid may lead to the excess of retinoic acid dependence pathways in the skin, which can cause skin irritation and other adverse reactions. RAL is A natural metabolite of retinol and direct the precursor substances of retinoic acid. It has similar biological activities to retinoic acid. RAL has the advantages over retinoic acid for its "reverse metabolism", the excess RAL can be rapidly reduced to retinol, and storage or inactivation in the form of retinol, and this "reverse metabolism" does not exist in retinoic acid. After RAL is absorbed by the skin, most are converted into retinol vinegar and stored for slow releasing, while a small amount of RAL is oxidized to retinoic acid by keratinized cells in A differentiation dependent manner, and this very small amount of retinoic acid can play biological functions in cells. This can avoid the skin adverse reaction caused by high dose of vitamin A acid. Clinical obeservation is also shown that RAL cream has better tolerance than retinoic acid and can be applied to sensitive parts. External used RAL was not absorbed into human blood, and the levels of various retinoids in the blood were also not affected by the external used RAL.
