Bright annealed stainless steel tube is a kind of high precision steel tube material after finishing or cold rolling. Due to the advantages of no oxide layer both inside and outside wall, no leakage under high pressure, high precision, high finish degree, no deformation and flaring, no cracks flattening, precision bright annealed tube is mainly used to produce pneumatic or hydraulic components, such as air cylinder or gas cylinder. It can be seamless tube, and also welded pipe. The chemical components of precision bright annealed tube are C, Si, Mn, S, P, Cr.

Especially for the tube with size greater than 12 meters, the ordinary pickling tube is very hard to clean the internal surface, however, with the bright annealing of stainless steel method, our tubing is much cleaner, smoother on both inner and outer surface. We use bright annealing method, the temperature of the furnace can reach greater than 1350℃, and the tolerance for the putting and real temperature can be controlled Within ±2℃, which is not possible for the regular annealing.

FACTORS AFFECTING BRIGHT ANNEALING OF STAINLESS STEEL TUBES

Stainless steel tube is now widely used in the market, it has a very important role in many industries. To reduce hardness and improve plasticity; to refine the grain and eliminate the internal stress, annealing must be carried out. Stainless steel tube annealing is generally carried out by continuous bright annealing furnace with ammonia decomposition protection gas for annealing of intermediate state and finished products. It can protect the bright outer surface of the stainless steel tube very well. The finished tube after annealing is also bright. This kind of tube does not need pickling.

 

There are many influence factors of bright annealed stainless steel tubing, this article lists five important factors for your reference.

 

  1. Whether the annealing temperature reaches the specified temperature

The heat treatment of stainless steel is usually solid solution heat treatment, that is what people usually called annealing, the temperature range of 1040~1120 (Japanese standard).  You can also look through the observation hole of the annealing furnace, the stainless steel tube in the annealing surface should be in incandescent state, but no softening droop appears.

 

  1. Annealing atmosphere

Pure hydrogen is regarded as anneal atmosphere commonly, atmosphere purity had better be 99.99% above, if another part in atmosphere is inert gas, purity also can a bit lower, but it  absolutely cannot contain excessive oxygen water vapor.

 

  1. Bright annealing furnace should be closed and isolated from the outside air; using hydrogen as a shielding gas, only one vent is vented (used to ignite the exhausted hydrogen). It can be checked by wiping in the annealing furnace with soap water in the joint gap to see whether the air run, one of the most likely places for gas to escape is where the annealing furnace enters the pipe and where the pipe comes out. The sealing ring in this place is particularly prone to wear and tear, so it should be checked and changed frequently.

 

  1. Protect gas pressure

In order to prevent micro-leakage, the protective gas in the furnace should maintain a certain positive pressure, if it is hydrogen protective gas, the general requirements of more than 20kBar.

 

  1. On the one hand, check whether the furnace material is dry, furnace material must be dried for the first furnace charging, Secondly, whether the stainless steel tube into the furnace remains too much water, especially if there are holes in the pipe, do not leak into it, or it will destroy the atmosphere of the stove.

THE TECHNOLOGY EXPLAINATION OF BRIGHT ANNEALED STAINLESS STEEL TUBING

Bright annealing equipment is a special equipment which is used to heat the stainless steel tube online to 1050 and then to cool it below 100 rapidly under the protection of hydrogen. The induction heating coil and cooling system are built into the sealed tube. The main feature of the system is the use of non-reusing hydrogen, with a very small flow rate, and only a few liters of pure hydrogen per minute. The gas used is pure hydrogen, which is not dangerous because of its small amount in the gas pipeline. At the same time, the exhaust gas discharged is burned, which can prevent the hydrogen from diffusing into the surrounding air and thus avoid the accumulation of dangerous concentration in the surrounding space. The heated stainless steel tube is cooled by heat conduction in a special closed cooling tunnel. These characteristics are the reasons why this system only needs a small amount of gas for bright annealing compared with other systems. Gas control system and equipment protection are automatically controlled by PLC.
