“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” Matt 7:7-8
As a student of Wisdom, I found the above words of His to be so prolific and profound. Indeed, my book title: "The three Laws of research," is indebted to the above words."
Christ is the wisdom of God; being a student of His for twenty seven years, is the most life transforming learning experience I ever had. The spoken words of Christ are imbued with eternity; thus, it would take eternity to unravel the wisdom found in His words.
That's why; I discard the baseless and senseless pursuit of God practiced the world over in His name. You can't be a student of the greatest mind that ever walked the earth and not be a great mind yourself. I encourage all professing Christians to stop this empty ritualistic and ceremonial religion we all practice in Christ name. It does not in any way reflect Christ, the wisdom of God. It’s time to know him!
Christ has more than wisdom, He is infinite wisdom; He does not only have life, He is life; He does not have peace, He is the prince of Peace, etc. To know Him is the greatest of all wisdom. I learned, some elite of society claim themselves to be the Illuminati; meaning the enlightened ones. What an elusive thought!
There is no illumination, enlightenment, intelligence anywhere as pure, prolific and profound as that which comes through walking with Christ as a student. I owe my intelligence and wisdom to this awesome relationship. And, the world is yet to see what mere men and women can become and do, by simply submitting under the tutelage of the one who created all things and by him all things consist. CHRIST!
It is practically impossible for mortals to think of attempting to decode the infinite wisdom found in His words without the help of His Spirit and mind in their Spirits and minds. This is the only authentic path of gaining access into the eternity and infinite intelligence in His words. I can write volumes on this truth.
Wisdom says:
“Ask and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”
These words are timeless and universal in their application. They contain principles, which can usher us into the wildest realm of possibilities unimaginable, if we consciously apply them. We would begin by considering the first phase in our text.
“Ask and it shall be given you.”
-Ask is the principle
-It shall be given, is the outcome or result
The above principle and outcome underline the path to unending possibilities. Where we are per time is not all that exist. We are limited by the quality, degree and intensity of our quest (Ask). We can break new grounds, open new frontiers, and accomplish what other generations considered as absolute impossibilities, if only we apply the ‘ASK,’ principle!
To ‘Ask’ is to demand, to be profoundly inquisitive and passionate to access what hasn’t been available, possible, attainable, obtainable, etc. Until we understand what it really means to ‘ASK,’ we can’t actually define terms like complacency and passivity.
If wisdom says: “Ask and it shall be given you.” It implies, our areas of deficiencies and deprivation in all domains are simply evidence of our deficiency and deprivation in “ASKING.” The generations that gave us most of what we are celebrating today, knew what it means to ‘ASK.’ They were men and women that were profoundly inquisitive and passionate to access what hasn’t been available, possible, attainable, and obtainable by any other generation. They placed a greater demand on the infinite wisdom of God and on their inward potential and in response to their quest; they brought us rest in diverse domains.
Our complacency to pursue real breakthrough in our times is the greatest shame we are living with. This generation is known as the Laodicean generation; a generation that has substituted true riches for trivialities. We are wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked, yet we don’t know we are; that makes our situation an emergency.
“Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:”
The unanswered questions and unresolved challenges in virtually all areas, and the deplorable state of the world staring at us daily are all a mockery to all of our claims. We need a people who can consciously apply the words of Christ in their approach to living in the 21st century. It would take just that to get us out of our present quagmire!
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
