There are three types of belts commonly found in automobiles: car fan belts, ribbed belts, and timing belts.

Automobile belt installation location: In automotive applications, it is mainly installed on the crankshaft of automobile engines to cams, water pumps, generators, air-conditioning compressors, power steering pumps and other positions.

1. The fan belt is a belt driven by a crankshaft. Its main purpose is to drive the engine fan and water pump.

2. The V-ribbed belt, also called air-conditioning belt, is used to drive the generator, air-conditioning compressor, and steering booster pump, and is hung on the crankshaft belt pulley, which is tightened by the air-conditioning belt tensioner. When this belt is damaged, the source will feel the power is heavy and there is no steering power. If the air conditioner is turned on, the air conditioner compressor will not start, so it cannot be cooled.

3. The timing belt is an important part of the engine's gas distribution system. It is connected to the crankshaft and matched with a certain transmission ratio to ensure the accuracy of the intake and exhaust time. The function of the timing belt is to open and close (time) the ignition sequence (time) of the piston stroke (up and down movement) of the valve when the engine is running. Under the action of "timing", it is necessary to maintain "synchronous" operation at all times.

The engine drives various auxiliary mechanisms through the belt drive, such as the compressor of the air conditioner, the power steering oil pump, and the alternator. If the belt slips or breaks, the related auxiliary mechanisms will not work properly, which will affect the normal use of the car lane. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly check the transmission belt.

There are many types of car engine belts. The type and length of the belt will be very different depending on the model and the location of use. It is best to provide the accurate model and engine model when buying. It is best to have the old belt removed for reference. Be sure to choose a car belt suitable for your vehicle.
