No all the digital hearing aid are programmable and what does programmable mean?

User programmable hearing aid means that an audiologist can modify a hearing aid’s settings for your personal hearing loss – it also means that they can set the aid up so that you can hear the sounds that you want to hear in your everyday environments. There will default options for common situations such as: at home, at a party, at the theatre, listening to music, and so on. You can ask your audiologist to modify these to suit your needs.

Programmable circuit features allow the hearing instrument to be variably reset and adjusted (via an external computer platform and software) closely to the patients targeted needs.

The advantages are the more precise acoustic adjustments that can be made when the product is fitted to the patient.
