N-propyl alcohol is a colorless transparent liquid with a special smell and a taste of wine.

Uses of normal propanol Alcohol

N-propyl alcohol is utilized for producing esters, as solvents and plastic plasticizers, and in medicines and spray paints.

Propyl alcohol can be used directly as a solvent or for synthesizing propyl acetate. It is applied for coating solvents, printing inks, cosmetics, etc. It is used in the production of pharmaceuticals, n-propylamine as one pesticide intermediate, feed additives, synthetic spices and so on. Propyl alcohol is used in the pharmaceutical industry to produce probenecid, sodium valproate, erythromycin, epileptic, an adhesive haemostatic agent called BCA, thiothiamine, dipropyl 2,5-dipicolinate, etc. Various esters synthesized by n-propyl alcohol are used in food additives, plasticizers, spices and many other aspects. N-propanol derivatives, especially di-n-propylamine, has many applications in medicine and pesticide production.

• propyl alcohol should be stored in a cool andventilated warehouse. It should be kept away from fire and heat sources, ensuring the temperature not exceeding 30°C. The storage container should be sealed and N-propyl alcohol should be separated from oxidants, acids, halogens, and food chemicals and never be mixed. Use explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities and do not use mechanical equipment and tools that are prone to generate sparks. In storage areas spill treatment equipment and suitable containment materials should be prepared.
