About Pine Nut

In Europe and places with a Mediterranean climate species are widely harvested, Korean pine in northeast Asia, and chilgoza pine in the western Himalaya. Four other species, Siberian pine, Siberian dwarf pine , Chinese white pine and lacebark pine, are also used to a lesser extent. Russia is the largest producer of Pinus sibirica nuts in the world followed by Mongolia,most is exported to China. Afghanistan is also an important source of pine nuts.
