Definition of Biopolishing Enzymes
With the increasing improvement of the quality and environmental requirements of textile products in modern society, the application of biopolishing enzymes as a natural protein product in textile dyeing and finishing has already been applied. Because the enzyme itself has the characteristics of "easy to complete biodegradation", it is environmentally friendly and does not pollute textiles, thus satisfying the "clean and harmless chemical method" for dyeing and finishing; at the same time, the enzyme-treated textiles can produce many special functions, which greatly improve the wearability and added value of textiles, and can meet the needs of different consumer groups in the market, which have a good prospect for development.
The effect of enzymes on fiber has high specificity and high catalytic efficiency, and when cellulase reacts with cellulose fibers, the enzyme molecule is adsorbed on some parts of cellulose fibers (first usually adsorbed on the fiber surface, again to the inside of the fiber infiltration) with the occurrence of coordination, the formation of intermediate complexes, and then the active site of the enzyme molecule of the specificity of the catalysis, promote the hydrolysis of cellulose molecular bonds, so that make cellulose molecules cut off.
Cellulase is mainly based on the fiber molecule β-1, and the 4-glycoside function of the mode divided into 3 categories:
(i) which can be arbitrarily cut off the cellulose molecule β-1, 4-glucoside between the-β glucose enzyme, also known as CX-enzyme, which is easy to act on the fiber-soluble matrix, and difficult to act alone in the fiber crystallization zone;
(ii) which cut off β-1, 4-glucoside bond to cellulose-β-CBH, also called C1 enzymes from the end of the main starting the end. It can destroy the crystalline region of the fiber when it coexists with the CX enzyme;
(iii) which can decompose low molecular glucose such as cellulose sugars into a single glucose β-BG. Bio polishing enzymes are generally the mixture of these three enzymes, and the main ingredient is the C1, which add the appropriate mechanical friction or use water on the fabric impact the surface, so that remove the fiber surface fluff (or micro-fibrils) and fiber end with less crystallinity, making the cloth clean and clear, and improving the softness and drape effect.
Advantages of Bio Polishing Enzymes
(1) After finishing the bio polishing, the surface of the fabric is clean, shiny, soft, and the pendant coefficient is reduced, and can achieve the quality that the general softening agent cannot achieve.
(2) The strength of the fabric after finishing is reduced, the decrease rate should be controlled at 20%, and the weight loss rate is at 3%. When the weight loss rate exceeds 5%, the wearability of fabric is obviously affected.
(3) Bio polishing finishing has more effect on the wet rubbing fastness of fabrics, and often reduce about one level than before, especially in dark-coloured fabrics.
