B-U wins Big at the 2010 Rhythm of Gospel Awards
RALEIGH, NC: It has been a long and exciting week for B-U at the 2010 Rhythm of Gospel Awards in Memphis, Tennessee. Fromappearances, photo sessions to interviews and even a community outreach appearance,this past award week has been all but boring. They arrived in Memphis on July20th to get adjusted to the area and do some sight seeing on the mosttalked about Beale Street, tasted the city’s best BBQ ribs fromRendezvous, enjoyed the city’s best Italian cuisine from the restaurant Spidiniand great soul food breakfast at the Blue Plate Café. Truly Memphis knows howto treat it’s guests.
Besides all the eating and PR, the day of the award show was one toremember. It was a big night for B-U and B-U Entertainment. B-U was upfor 3awards and came away with 2, Holy Hip Hop Song of the Year for theirsingle “RighteousKnow Why” and Holy Hip Hop Group of the Year. They were also presentersfor the award show, presenting the Rhythm of Gospel Song of the YearAward. Totop that off, B-U gave an excellent performance that captivated theaudience and sent a message of reformation and inner change to those whoneeded to accept Jesus in their life as their personal Savior.

The Rhythm Of Gospel Awards is a event designed to be an evening of entertainment and recognition, hosted by The National & Independent Gospel MusicAssociation and Produced by Founder and Executive Director Mr. MarkRogers and Co Produced by Trenton Ware, and Maurice Cheairs.
This Televised Award Show recognizes outstanding churches/pastors, choirs andindependent gospel music artist of all genres, for their outstandingcontributions toward the betterment and advancement of their communities.
The Rhythm of Gospel Award Show offered a platform for “Independent Gospel Artist” and gave them the opportunity to network formally whilecongratulating trailblazers of various sectors in all communities in a positivecollaboration towards bringing all ethnicities together.
The festivities hosted at the Rhythm Of Gospel Award Show featured over 100 different local, regional andnational musical acts from Alternative Christian Rock, Southern Gospel,Traditional, Contemporary, Gospel Hip Hop, Urban, and Folk to Cool Jazz and HotTejano Rhythms. B-U is a trulyanointed duo that GOD has chosen to reach the youth and young adults in the nations through the ministry and gift ofmusic. Their sound is like none you’ve everheard before, as the words minister to the spirit, the music enhances thepraise.

In 2002, if you were to tell B-Nard and Ursela that they would become the anointedhusband and wife Christian rap team the Jesus has made them today; they wouldhave probably laughed at you and said “yeah right”. But when Jesus has a planfor you, it will happen. They met in a studio in 2002 to only later to be unitedin marriage in 2005. During this time they were pursuing their own careers inmusic; Ursela as the hip-hop artist “FIN” and B-Nard as the r & b soloist“RBP”. They teamed up to become thesecular hip-hop team “FIN & RBP”. But being active members in their churchand hearing the Word of God reformed them to make a change in their individuallives altogether. B-Nard re-dedicated his life and Ursela dedicated her life toJesus. During this time Jesus spoke to B-Nard and told him to stop secularmusic and minister musically in gospel. With that being said they teamed up as theChristian rap group B-U.
B-U meaning is “Being-Used by Jesus Christ”.
Trusting GOD and being obedient in ministry, B-U has won the Holy Hip-Hop Artist of theYear Award for the North Carolina Gospel Announcer’s Guild for the year 2008.B-U has received 2 Rhythm of Gospel Award nominations in 2009, 2 Independent/InspirationalGospel Music Award (IGMA) nominations and is a two time winner of 2010 Rhythmof Gospel Award. They were winners inthe category of Holy Hip Hop Group of the Year and Holy Hip Hop Song of theYear for the single, ‘Righteous Know Why’. B-U’s main focus is telling the truth about Jesus Christ to the youthand young at heart as they continue to minister to all in their unique fashionthat God has instilled in them. Their ministry is based on this quote:
