To facilitate the positioning of the bit, the DTH drill bit shall be in a state with a gentle impact power, a minor thrust force and a low rotation speed (water will be offered optimally in need of the dust clear). When the pit reaches about 10 cm inside the rock, maximize the impact power, properly increase the thrust and speed up the rotation (dust removal shall be with air-water mixture of a feasible proportion) to resume the routine drilling.
Once a DTH drill rod is done, stop the pneumatic motor and the supply of air and water. Then insert the fork into the drill rod slot of the holder and reverse the pneumatic motor. Finally, back the slide and separate the joint from the drill rod to connect a second one. Repeat the steps until all rods done.
The disassembly of DTH drill rods is semi-automatic, which is achieved by the cooperation of the drill rod unloader, the drill pit holder, two forks and the reversal of the pneumatic motor.
For disassembly, back the rotary machine to get the second slot (the slot near the middle of the joint) of the drill rod and the square frame of the holder reach the aligned position, where insert firmly with a fork.
Then the reverse the motor to get the first slot (the slot near the head of the joint) and the square frame of the unloader reach the aligned position, where insert the second fork.
Next, take out the first fork (the fork in the square frame of the holder) and use the propulsion cylinder to make the unloader drive the drill rod backward.
Finally, reverse the motor when the second slot of the second drill rod is opposite to the slot of the holder and remove the first drill rod when the screw in between is detached. Repeat the steps to disassemble the drill rods.
