1. The Specifics of Salvation
a. Right division is specifically a salvation issue: we are to make salvation known (clear).
b. What is it? How does it work? What are the details?
c. There is a difference between the general and specific message of salvation
d. There is a change in how salvation is offered and applied (progressive revelation)
e. Salvation is simple, yet the details continue to teach us about the deep things of God
2. The Message of Salvation
a. Generally: salvation is life, good, peace, truth, kind, liberty, love, and joy – Phil 4:8
b. Forgetting specifics: the world seeks salvation! (… their own way)
c. The world needs: wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption – 1 Cor 1:30
d. No one rejects the general message of salvation, it is the specific message they reject.
e. I have set before thee this day: life and good; or death and evil - Deut 30:15
f. Passed from death to life - John 5:24, 10:10, Col 1:13
g. Abolished death and brought life - 2 Tim 1:10
3. The Book of Salvation
a. The scriptures are able to make you wise about salvation – 2 Timothy 3:15
b. The beginning: Adam didn’t need salvation Romans 5:12, Genesis 2:17
c. The ending: Now is come salvation! Revelation 12:10
d. The law, prophets, and psalms speak about salvation – Exo 15:2, Psalm 18:1-2, Isa 12:2
4. The Mystery of Salvation
a. Specifically: salvation is life according to the mystery of Christ.
b. Ye heard the gospel of your salvation – Eph 1:13
c. The mystery of the gospel is revealed – 1 Cor 9:17, Eph 6:19
d. The power of God unto salvation – Romans 1:16
e. God has appointed unto us salvation - 1 Thess 5:9
f. The grace of God had then appeared to all men - Titus 2:11-12
Salvation has always been the wisdom of God's grace providing an atonement for man,
propitiating wrath, forgiveness of sins, redemption from evil, reconciliation unto to God,
justification by faith, and sanctification unto holiness.
