LED Display Overview

A LED display uses light-emitting diodes as a video display. Just like a big TV which can be used both outdoor and indoor.

It is widely used in the hall, hotel, exhibition room, showcase, square, sculptures, symbols, building etc. Because of LED display dynamic and constantly changing, vivid images and videos, live to broadcast, etc many advantages.

Nowadays is most popular for advertising purpose and showing purpose.

The first question before buying a Led display is "where will it be used, Indoor or Outdoor?"

LED Pixel Pitch

One of the most important knowledge when you buy a Led Display.

Pitch stands in distance between the pixels. Example P10 = distance between pixels =10mm.

Pixel can exist of more leds. In Full-color solution, they have 3 leds in 1 pixels (Red Green Blue)

Pitch will determine the viewing distance and the resolution. The smaller the pitch the smaller the viewing distance.

To determine the right pitch is not easy. First, you have to determine the viewing distance before you can choose the pitch. Indoor will mostly have a small pitch. (P3-P10) because the minimum viewing distance is small. Outdoor will have a bigger pitch. (starting from P10...)

LED Display Resolution

Resolution is the basic measurement of how much information a screen shows based on the total number of pixels within the display area and is a significant factor in determining image quality.

The led screen resolution is the number of distinct pixels in each dimension that can be displayed.

It is usually quoted as width × height, with the units in pixels: for example, "1024×768" means the width is 1024 pixels and the height is 768 pixels.

When the Led Display should display clear text. The resolution is very important (like information displays) Most characters on an information display should be around 8 leds high and 5 leds width.

In order to show a good video effect on led display, it will need total resolution 50,000 pixels at least.
