And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. (Revelation 5:1)

The book John was referring to is the oldest book in existence. It isn't an ordinary book, but one containing just every possible truth needed for breakthrough in all areas and profound secrets of the progressive plan of God for all ages. The unfortunate situation was that, this book was sealed with seven seals. 

Imagine a book containing the "secret code" for the redemption of mankind, but sealed. This was the situation, which prompted a weeping response. There was just no one found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.

And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. (Revelation 5:1)

What do we weep for today? Do we weep in search for truth or in search for trivialities? What a generation weeps for reveals their sense of value and how far they can get to. I wonder if a sealed book could prompt a weeping spring in our world. But this wasn't the case in our scriptural text; the situation prompted John to weep. It seems we have drifted from the path of wisdom, underlining the real cause why a privilege generation like ours is yet to experience real rest. 

LET'S GET BACK TO OUR FOCUS
The good news is that, after the weeping of John, he received a message of consolation. Revelation comes when we weep for insight into the mind of God. The last Christian revolution is here! The carriers of this revolution must be men and women with a weeping heart. A heart that bleeds, blesses. Below is the revelation given to John in respond to his quest. 

"And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof." 

This is the summary of the meaning of Easter. A sealed book, containing just every possible truth needed for breakthrough in all areas and profound secrets of the progressive plan of God for all ages, was finally opened through the dead and resurrection of Christ. If we celebrate Easter without this understanding, we are simply reading from a closed book. 

The Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, Christ the risen Lord has opened the book. That's the reason for the season. That's why he came. He came to open the book, but not to read it for us. It is our responsibility to look into the book and to read its content. 

I think, no one is supposed to stand on any pulpit anywhere to speak to God's people, who isn't reading from this book. No one is supposed to write any book in God’s name that didn't receive inspiration by reading from this book. Talk less of starting a ministry or church without reading from the pages of this book for inspiration, revelation and direction. The book was opened, but it's our responsibility to read its content and to deliver it to the world just as it is in the book. This is what New Testament ministry is about. Dr. Benard Etta
