On Saturday, December 20, 2014, the Northeast Performing Arts Group (NEPAG) will host the 2014 Dynamic Gospel Explosion fundraiser at the Woodrow Wilson High School auditorium, located at 3950 Chesapeake Street, N.W.
The Dynamic Gospel Explosion is not a competition, but an evening of praise and worship. This annual event is the brainchild of NEPAG executive director, Rita Jackson, and is celebrated in partnership with the District’s faith-based community and will showcase some of the best gospel artists and liturgical dance ministries in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
The NEPAG is celebrating 35 years in service to the arts and is a nationally known 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the lives of youth through exposure to the performing arts. Set more than 2,000 years ago, this free musical extravaganza captures the birth of Christ and brings the town of Bethlehem to life! The story of God’s redeeming love is told through comedy, dance and pulsating songs. Now in its sixth season, The Uncut Coming of Christ has become a family holiday tradition and continues to add new twists each year.
Visitors to the FBCG Worship Center are transported through time upon entering the Great Halls, which have been transformed into the Bethlehem marketplace. Be sure to arrive one hour before the play to experience all the sights, sounds and smells.
Have you ever wondered what life was like back then? Ever been curious about what the people wore or what they ate? You’ll find out during the fabulous pre-show production! Shepherds, Roman soldiers and regular townspeople will serve as your guide through the “city streets,” where you’ll see animals, vendors, wares and much more.

This is to help women and children in transition or dealing with homelessness, Domestic violence, addictions, abuse, and incarceration.
We will be operating a Winter Haven Hypothermia overnight shelter at Sligo Seventh-day Adventist Church for women and children. We will receive referrals from Montgomery County Crisis Center beginning January 1, 2015 through February 28, 2015, from 7pm-7am , and perhaps longer. We will be providing 10-15 beds , depend on the changes in temperature more beds may be needed as temperatures drop.
We will provide services for the women and children in transition, who need food, clothing, toiletry, winter items, bedding items, gift cards and to open up a facility to provide housing for o

As far back as anyone can remember, First Baptist Church of Glenarden has always been committed to serving the community – which includes providing traditional Thanksgiving baskets to the less fortunate each year.
Resources to serve the community in this manner have gradually and steadily increased over the years, and the lines for baskets have grown longer and longer. Under the direction of Pastor John K. Jenkins Sr., in keeping with FBCG’s “double portion” theme for 2013, the church set out to to make a “double impact or greater” in the lives of those who would benefit from this ministry.
Every department and ministry was pulled into a churchwide collaboration. The goal was to create an impactful event that would eliminate long lines, put smiles on our guests’ faces and serve them in 20 minutes or less. Entertainment was provided for the children, while guests had the opportunity to receive ministry, health screenings and prayer.
The event was staffed by 1,500 volunteer
