Skilled writer, Jacqueline Shukur-Powell, extensively trained for a Master of Fine Arts degree at Howard University School of Radio, Television in Film, taught undergraduates the technical skills they needed to be successful in the Radio, Television and Film discipline at Howard University. She followed up her educational and teaching career with professional experience in the entertainment industry at National Geographic Television, in addition to practical television camera and editing experience in the ministry. Ollie L. Jefferson is an author and publisher of Time Will Tell Stage I & II.  She is called back to perform the second book adaptation with her daughters, Nailah and Miniya, at the  John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Page-to-the-Stage. This celebrated playwright and award-winning actress have produced original stage plays annually at over sixty locations and theaters. The author uses self-reflection and writing to explore lived experiences and connect this auto-ethnography andautobiographical story to wider cultural,  social meaning, and understanding.

This eight week course is taught by Casting Director/Acting Coach Sharon Brown. Students will learn “Technique” for stage and film. They will learn how to analyze script to include finding the theme, super objective, literal actions, scene objectives, tactics, imagination, subtext, motivation and relaxation. Students will come to realize TRUTH in many aspects regarding Acting and themselves.  Each student will analyze and memorize a script for stage and a monologue for film using the technique. The African American Church is filled with a rich heritage of creative expression in worship, prayer and prophetic ministry. It is our mission to see the them fulfill their God-ordained role as leaders in prayer and prophetic worship movement.
