Reverend Arlene Miles Lassiter-Jacobs was born in Burlington, North Carolina to Reverend Thomas H. and Mrs. Linda Miles. She graduated from Walter M. Williams High School in June of 1993 and later went on to complete her Bachelors’ of Science Degree, Majoring in Computer Information Technology and Minor Studies in Business Information Systems at Guilford College in May of 2008.
Rev. Arlene began in Ministry at Morgantown Baptist Church, in late November of 2002 and began initial training under the leadership of former Pastor, Bishop Steven Clay and was licensed on June 22, 2003. It was in September and October of 2001 when she first began to understand her calling into the Ministry and began writing “Soul Food” a small newsletter when she quickly realized that God does not want our substitute. It is all or nothing, so she stepped up, answered God’s call and has been “Souled Out” for Christ every since. Rev. Arlene served as an Associate Minister, played an intergal role in the music ministry while at Morgantown. She did this all while writing gospel plays, such as “A Godly Mate” and “The Prodigal Son” that were performed there at the church.
In May of 2008, Rev. Arlene, under the direction of God, she was lead to Greater Canaan Missionary Baptist church. On October 26, 2008, she became a licensed minister of the gospel under the leadership and training of Pastor and Founder, Bishop Franklin O. Hanes. She is presently the “Youth Minister” and the Youth Choir Director for “Voices of Praise”. Rev. Arlene was ordained in the Gospel on March 16, 2013 under the leadership of Bishop Franklin Hanes as well.
After several years of praying, seeking God, and growing spiritually and mentally, Minister Lassiter began to walk into her "Blessed Destination" and founded Praying Hands Ministries in 2010. This was a result of a seed of ministry that God had planted within her before her conception. Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations."
On June 1st, 2013, Rev. Arlene was wed in holy matrimony to Minister Jason Tamel Jacobs (now deceased) of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Upon marriage, Minister Jacobs relocated to join his wife and children in Greensboro, North Carolina and under the direction of the Lord, joined himself under Praying Hands Ministries where they worked together to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Rev. Arlene Lassiter-Jacobs is an anointed young woman, who lives what she speaks and teaches. She is a minister, a counselor, a mother, a helper, a friend, a blessed child of God, to sum it all up, she is a willing worker for the Lord. She is a “messenger of God”, preaching and teaching wherever, whenever God directs her to “Speak the Word and Make it Plain.”
