DJ Bam spins the hottest, positive music! Growing up in the "DMV" in the 80's, DJ Bam experienced the birth of a "Hip Hop Culture". Growing up in the DMV DJ Bam was molded musically by D.C.’s signature sound, Go-Go. While playing drums for many local go-go bands he began to listen to a new sound coming from up north not realizing that this new music would later explode into a national phenomenon called "Hip Hop". Soon after he began to DJ @ home on his parents old turntable while still playing go-go on the weekends. By the early 90’s he had begun to want more and took his love for live music and hip hop and started producing music for other artists where he got the best of both worlds. In 1994 he got his big break by producing the Gold selling record “5 o’clock” by D.C.’s own Nonchalant on MCA Records. This exposed him to a much larger audience where he began to spin @ much larger venues and clubs. For the next 10 years he continued to produce hit records and spin in the hottest venues and clubs. But in 2005 after giving his life to Christ and realizing the destructive impact of negative music, he decided to stand on the platform of positive music @ all times! "IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE VULGAR OR NEGATIVE TO BE GOOD!!" Now, known as DJ Bam “The Positive DJ” spinning only positive music, he attempts to educate and entertain the youth & adults alike about the “Truth of God’s purpose through his music ministry”. He continues to give back through his God given abilities as a DJ, record producer and sound engineer mixing records for many local and national artists. He has shared the stage or studio time with artists such as Dave Hollister, Tank, Nonchalant, Earnest Pugh, Stephen Hurd, Nelson Frank, iNdigo, Tre Thomas just to name a few... Whether it’s through the music he’s producing, engineering and mixing on someone's album or spinning on the 1's and 2's, DJ Bam continues to strive to be a positive source for youth and adults alike to hear the hottest positive music.
