My path to this moment has been rugged but straight. I was born and raised in China and deeply influenced by my Christian grandma. I spent most of my school days on scientific study and majored in Clinical Medicine out of curiosity about life and the human body. While I remained interested in medicine, I felt wasted and therefore, depressed, during my doctoral internship. This depression, like all human frustrations about life, originated from not being able to use up the talents God gave us. I must write, and I did. After I graduated from a top medical school in China, I attended the University of Iowa in 2018 to study creative writing, and later obtained my MFA from California College of the Arts, where I worked intensely on my debut novel, LEONARDO, with established authors. Now I live in Walnut Creek, California, with my boyfriend and our two blue-eyed bunnies.
