If Your Downtown is Like my Downtown, which may be like many Downtowns across America, then at one time, perhaps Long Ago, but Not too long ago, to where you were part of it, Then Your Inner City was Booming with Prosperity in EVERY sense & term of the word! All for you to see it DISAPPEAR, to Still Not Return, to your Disappointment & holding out For &; "Hoping Against Hope" that You would LIVE To See the Day that it Returned, ANDStillBe YOUNG Enough to Enjoy It, Once Again. I can Mention; Detroit, Dallas, Joliet, & Im sure You can add many others to this List. How many Cities, Downtowns, have turned into "Ghost-Towns", and the only thing you Lacked seeing was Tumbling Weed blowing thru Your Town, & You mention That to a Friend in a Sad Jest, to one day have them return & say; "I just literally seen Tumble-Weed blow thru the Downtown area". I said that to a Friend one day about our Cities plight, & he returned with that witness. And Joliet is in the Midwest near Chicago, not even near the Desert. However, its become Deserted, Abandoned, Forsaken & Still Is. A Haunt for Poverty & Despair & Corruption. When Our Steel Mill. & Caterpillar Plant & Major Railroad Closed in the 70s (Im 53 years of age now). That was 34 years ago, & is Stillin that condition.Our Booming Prosperity that was here ever since this Town was Discovered & Founded in the late 1800's ALL the way thru to 1978, for over a Century, was all of sudden; GONE!
