We invite you to join us for the highly anticipated AMP and Trip Lee Concert at New Covenant Fellowship Church in Germantown, MD! Get ready for a lot of food, fun, and fellowship!Music continually influences our culture and has shaped the minds and behaviors of each generation. The things that secular artists sing about and worship in their songs have translated into our generation becoming indoctrinated with their message. Hip-hop has been one particular genre of music that has been used to poison our generation. The secular hip-hop artists of today preach the degradation of women and the idolization of money, materialism, drugs and alcohol. We hope to provide an alternative to this message through the music of Trip Lee and AMP.Through this concert, we hope to reach students in a nontraditional and unexpected way. Instead of listening to a sermon, students will be able to hear God’s message through each song. This allows students to experience God in a unique and fresh way. As students leave the concert they will also have the opportunity to purchase CDs and continually hear the message that they just heard.Additionally, a portion of the proceeds for this concert will go to Little Lights Urban Ministry. Little Lights is a non-profit Christian urban ministry dedicated to showing the love of Jesus Christ to the inner city community of Southwest Washington, DC, particularly the children. We believe in giving back to the community, so as you support AMP you will also be supporting Little Lights.August 20, 2010.
