NBA Star Kevin Durant Returns Home to Prince George’s County
for Kevin Durant Day

Seat Pleasant, MD – The Official hometown event honoring one of Seat Pleasant’s very own, Kevin Wayne Durant, will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017. The community is welcoming him home and celebrating his extraordinary win as a 2017 NBA Champion with the Golden State Warriors and receiving the Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award.

The Seat Pleasant City Council and Mayor Eugene W. Grant would like to invite the community to join the all-day event, Kevin Durant Day Parade and Festival. The event will feature national and local recording artists and celebrities, prominent business leaders and an expected 20,000 people from around the country.

The parade will take place at 10am, and will include local high school marching bands and ROTC units. It will start at Judith P. Hoyer Montessori School, traveling down Seat Pleasant Drive and Addison Road, and commencing at Goodwin Park (311 68th Place, Seat Pleasant, MD), where the festival will take place. This exciting day also includes a one-on-one basketball tournament on the outdoor basketball courts that Kevin Durant donated to the Seat Pleasant Activity Center.
