About Us: The purpose of our organization is to maintain an association of persons interested in books and libraries;
to encourage youth and young adults to develop that interest; to focus public attention on the library; to stimulate the
use of the library's resources and services; to receive and encourage gifts and bequests to the library; to recruit
volunteers; and to support and cooperate with the library in developing library services and facilities for the
community.
The Friends of the Oxon Hill Branch Library is established exclusively for charitable and educational purposes,
including, the making of distributions to the Prince George's County Memorial Library System that qualifies as an
exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Services Code (or the corresponding provision
of any future United States Internal Revenue Law). No part of the net earnings of the organization shall benefit, or
be distributable to its directors, members, officers, or other private persons, except that the organization shall be
authorized and empowered to pay reasonable compensation for services rendered, and to make payments and
distributions in furtherance of the purposes set forth in our bylaws.
We are a nonprofit organization consisting of volunteers who on Monday, September 30, 2019, from 1:00 PM to
3:00 PM, will be sponsoring a Panel/Discussion on “Surviving Cancer: What You Need to Know.” And we need
your help. Please do us the honor and spread the word about this event and let those who you communicate with
know that this event will help to educate attendees and caregivers who may be connected with someone
experiencing the effects of cancer on their lives. The Oxon Hill Branch Library is located at 6200 Oxon Hill Road,
Oxon Hill, Maryland 20745. The event will take place in the Lecture Hall. For more information about the Friends,

This event is FREE and OPEN to the public. Seating is limited. Therefore, advanced registration is highly
recommended. Interested persons should contact the Oxon Hill Branch Library at (301) 839-2400 to sign up or go
