Weeks, months and years later residual emotional trauma remains long after the procedure. Because of the topic’s sensitivity, society has hushed and closed the door on the wounds that need healing. Some of the residual emotional trauma manifests as depression that often leads to addictive behaviors of shopping, gambling, drinking, abuse of drugs (prescription and illegal), or sexual promiscuity.
