Pastor Kirby Anthony and his wife of twenty years, Tara, fearlessly lead R5Church. While serving as an asst pastor on staff of New Life Church in Hampton Roads, VA, Pastor Kirby began experiencing what describes as a burden to launch a church in Charlotte, NC. In 2009 his pastor encouraged him to pursue this call and the following year the church sent Pastor Kirby and his family to Charlotte to launch R5Church. Pastor Kirby holds a BA in Theology, a MA in Urban Christian Ministry from Charlotte Christian College & Theological Seminary and is currently pursuing a PHD in Leadership. His wife Tara holds a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies from Norfolk State University and is a teacher in the local school system. Together they share three children; Jerome, Kayla and Khalil.
