NorthPhillyBillies is the story of Mya Williams-Hoyt a successful attorney who lives in Beverly Hills. Through hard work and perseverance she has finally gotten out of the violent crime ridden neighborhood of North Philly where she grew up. It’s also the story of Bessie Davis, a single mother who is determined not to lose her children to the mean streets of North Philly. She does any and everything necessary to assure that doesn’t happen in an attempt to keep her family together. But while she’s taking on North Philly a real battle is brewing in her own home. NorthPhillyBillies is an inspirational stage play that will inspire people to take a deep look into their family structure and find their strengths as opposed to their weaknesses. In a time when drugs, violence and destruction of the family seems to be the norm instead of the exception NorthPhillyBillies shows how one woman single handedly fights back to keep her family intact. This play mirrors the issues facing inner city families all of the Country.
