    Due to the current economic climate, many of our Southern Maryland neighbors have become unable to obtain health care coverage. This often results in neglect of basic health care which can lead to undetected or uncontrolled hypertension, diabetes, cancer and/or more serious problems. The mission of this Health Fair is to provide area residents with information and options regarding their health.

     

    Please come out and enjoy the free educational health classes, exercise classes, and the guest speaker, A prostate cancer survivor who will share his story from 11-12.

     

    There are even activities for the children to include face painting, crafts, and a My Gym expo from 1-2.

    This play is based on a biblical story from the Book of Exodus about when a Pharaoh told the slaves to make brick without straw. We, as women, go about our daily life and can find ourselves in a similar situation. Someone is always telling us what we can and cannot do. We have suffered so many things and so have many strong women before us. We make ends meet when we have little; we stretch five dollars and make it look like we spend ten. This is also a reminder of the virtuous women who made something out of nothing. We have to remain strong as women, and do what it takes to help our families. Sometimes we find ourselves in a difficult situation and we don't know which way to turn. Sometimes these situations aren't pretty; in fact they can be dangerous, shameful, and embarrassing.
