    Radio One DC Station WPRS-FM Praise 104.1 will host The Annual St. Jude Radiothon on Thursday, March 31st, 2011 from 6a-7p at their Corporate Headquarters located at 5900 Princess Garden Parkway Lanham, MD 20706.

    The broadcast will begin during the The Yolanda Adams Morning Show from 6a-10a and will continue through The Lonnie Hunter Show from 10a-2p; Local DC Market updates with Sheila Stewart and end with Cheryl Jackson from 3pm-7pm.

    Chick- Fil-a Bowie; Bojangles & Events By Lulu serve as breakfast, lunch and dinner sponsors this year.

    Last year the station raised over $180,000 dollars to benefit St. Jude and their global efforts to find a cure for cancer and diseases in young children. Listeners in the Washington, DC area can donate to St. Jude by calling 1-800-345-HOPE (4673) during broadcast hours or at the donate link below.

    The Federal City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (FCAC DST) and The Federal City Public Service Foundation are pleased to announce our Ninth Annual Stomp D.A.T.SM (Drugs, Alcohol, Tobacco) Youth Step Show. This year’s show, themed “Stomping at the Drug Free Zone,” is being held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 4pm at Howard University’s Cramton Auditorium (2455 Sixth Street, NW, Washington, DC 20059. Cramton Auditorium is accessible by the Metrorail Green Line, Shaw – Howard University Station or by Metrobus 70, 90, 92 and G2 routes).

     

    STOMP D.A.T. SM, which is the largest youth step show in the DC area, had over 1200 in attendance last year.  It  provides an opportunity for youth to showcase their talents while voicing a powerful message, SAYING NO TO DRUGS, ALCOHOL, and TOBACCO. The competition features nine step teams from the DC/MD/VA metro area, consisting of middle and high school aged youth.  Teams come from schools, churches, community groups, and independen
