FELA! is the true story of the legendary Nigerian musician Fela Kuti, whose soulful Afrobeat rhythms ignited a generation. FELA! is a triumphant tale of courage, passion and love, featuring Fela Kuti's captivating music and the visionary direction and choreography of BILL T.JONES.

Time Out New York proclaims that "FELA! is more than a musical; it's an ecstatic phenomenon."

Ben Brantley of the New York Times raved, "There should be dancing in the streets ... (it's) a singular, sensational show that throbs with a stirring newness."

Michael Billington in London's The Guardian wrote "FELA! joyfully breaks down conventional barriers between stage and auditorium, and joins passion and politics. The dancing is ecstatic, the music lifts the spirits, and the stage is alive with movement."

    Lyn Brown Music Group PRESENTS
Highest Praise @ Gospel Mondaze LIVE

Katice Cornett & Highest Praise was born out of a simple request for Katice Cornett to sing at a women's day service in Atlantic City, NJ in the summer of 2003. She sought the Lord for guidance and her friends for assistance; and while this group of musicians thought this was a one time engagement, the Lord truly had something else in mind. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirt, Katrice and her friends established the group, Highest Praise!

Women, get ready for the return of the popular symposium, Woman Thou Art Loosed! The conference is back and stronger than ever!

The powerful message began as a Sunday school curriculum in 1992 by Bishop T.D. Jakes to encourage women from all backgrounds, cultures and ages to find support and hope in one another and God as they become stronger leaders in their families, churches, communities and businesses.

Since its inception, Woman Thou Art Loosed has transformed into a best-selling book, a widely-acclaimed stage play, a GRAMMY®-nominated CD and a national conference that has drawn more than a half-million women from around the world. In October 2004,Woman, Thou Art Loosed, the movie, developed in collaboration with Reuben Cannon Productions, became a box office top-10 hit winning a 2005 NAACP Image Award.

  • Sign-A-Rama Customer Appreciation Celebration

  • Oct 19, 2011 from 2:30pm to 4:30pm
  • Location: Sign-a-Rama Silver Spring
  • Description:

DC-MD Small Business Owner Networking is thrilled to share in the Customer Appreciation Celebration of one of our member businesses: Sign-a-Rama Silver Spring.

It's been a year since we helped our fellow entrepreneur, Stacey Brown, open the doors to her Sign-a-Rama store in Silver Spring.  To celebrate her first year and show her gratitude for all those who have helped grow her business, Stacey has designated the month of October as Customer Appreciation Month. As part of Customer Appreciation Month, she's throwing a party and we're invited!

Although Stacey has worked incredibly hard to start her business in a tumultuous economic climate, she's committed to making Customer Appreciation Month more than a celebration of her business success.  All month long, she's been collecting donations for A Wider Circle, a local 501c (3) celebrating their 10 year anniversary this month.  The entire admission fee for this Meetup will be donated to A Wider Circle.
