    Be sure to check out NETFLIX this weekend, Friday, November 20th,  when VOICES OF FIRE follow Pharrell Williams’ hometown community as it builds one of the world’s most inspiring gospel choirs.  Pharrell’s uncle, Bishop Ezekiel Williams is featured in the series as the leader of this team of influential gospel leaders, including the legendary Peggy Britt as they venture out into Hampton Roads to find undiscovered talent.  With the belief that diverse backstories can give their collective voice a greater meaning, the Bishop and his team will be searching for people of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds.  Their ultimate goal is to build a great choir that will showcase the new talent that will be seen around the world.

    Contest Rules
    • The title of the poem is "COVID-19 Altered My Life"
    • Submit an email of your typed poem of one page only
    • Address your personal story of how the COVID-19 coronavirus has altered your life
    • Proofread your poem for any grammatical errors 
    • Do not use texting lingo 
    • Poems containing language that is vulgar, offensive, or inappropriate will not be accepted 
    • Email your contact number and poem to poethost@gmail.com

    Your poem will be judged on Transparency, Originality & Creativity of “Social Distancing”.
    All poems have to be submitted by Saturday, November 28, 2020.
    Winners will be announced on December 5, 2020, during the radio broadcast of Poetic Transparency between 7 PM - 8 PM EST on WYCB, 1340AM – RADIO ONE.
