About The Christian Business Institute

The Christian Business Institute or CBI is a ministry in First Baptist Church of Glenarden.  The ministry is dedicated to helping individuals learn to conduct an ethical Christian Business that is financially sound and based on biblical principles.  The mission is to foster opportunities for businesses that will enable them to network and provide economic growth with an emphasis on four core components: Training and Education, Business Expo, Business Directory, and Public Relations.  Networking is highly encouraged.

Meetings are held the 2nd Friday of every month, 7-9 pm at the Worship Center of the First Baptist Church of Glenarden at 600 Watkins Park Drive, Upper Marlboro, MD.

The 2016 Inspiration Celebration Gospel Tour is back for the 10th year and will feature every genre within the gospel music industry: contemporary, traditional, inspirational, instrumental, hip-hop, and comedy. Hosted by syndicated radio personality Lonnie Hunter, you'll experience renowned gospel artists Donald Lawrence, Marvin Sapp, Karen Clark-Sheard, Charles Jenkins, Jonathan McReynolds, Canton Jones, and Doug Williams. Acclaimed comedian, Small Fire will provide entertainment for the entire family and community to enjoy.

This tour continues to deliver strong evidence that consumers view McDonald’s as being connected to the African-American community and will continue to offer not only a free concert, but also a great family experience with entertainment that is positive, uplifting and inspirational.

Tickets are going FAST and are distributed on a first come first served basis. No seats will be held so be sure to get your tickets below before it’s too late!

A musical drama that tells the story of a family man, Milo, who   struggles to meet his family’s growing needs.  His desire for prosperity jeopardizes his family’s unity and has unexpected results.  Milo’s wife Teresa, and teenage daughter, Lydia find themselves having to cope with Milo’s old fashion ideas, while his no nonsense sister, Hattie keeps it real as only a sibling can.

Birthed in 1982 at Willmar Community College with 1800 people in attendance, the Sonshine festival has grown to see attendances well over 20,000 people yearly. Festival director Bob Poe describes the heart of the festival quite accurately in saying, “Although the music and faces have changed over time, the mission of Sonshine has remained consistent. That mission is to call people to be life-long followers of Jesus, whether they are just embarking on their journey, or have been faithfully following for years.”

On top of conveniently located camping areas (within 4 minutes of walking distance to the stages), the festival features a killer music tournament where the grand prize winner gets a chance to play mainstage!
