As chairman of the Bowie/Mitchellville (MD) Alumni Chapter’s “Power To End Stroke” walk-a-thon committee, I am writing to formally invite you to join us in our walk-a-thon. Power To End Stroke (PTES) is an exciting national campaign that raises awareness about stroke while embracing and celebrating the culture, creativity and energy of African Americans. The campaign targets those ages 30 to 64. To date, more than 144,000 people nationally have joined the Power To End Stroke movement, with over 4,600 people trained as Ambassadors to educate the community about strokes and stroke prevention.The walk-a-thon, which will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2010 beginning at the Glenn Dale Community Center, starts promptly at 9:00 a.m. The Glenn Dale Community Center is located at 11901 Glenn Dale Blvd, Glenn Dale, MD 20769.Additional information for the PTES walk-a-thon can be found at http://bmackapsi.dojiggy.com.
