Communion - Why we come to the table for Communion....* We observe Communion because the Lord told us to.1 Corinthians 11:24And when He had given thanks. He broke it & said, "Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you, do this in remembrance of Me. "We remember Christ and all that He has done for us in His life, death & resurrection.1 Corinthians 11:24"But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. "As a statement of faith, we proclaim His death until He comes.1 Corinthians 11:26for as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes.We show our participation in the body of Christ.1 Corinthians 10:16-17The cup of blessing which we bless, it is not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? For we, through many, are one bread and one body; for we all partake of that one bread.A FBCG member in good standing:1. Is actively involved in a ministry2. Regularly attends Bible study and/or is enrolled in a teaching ministry.3. Regularly attends Prayer Service.4.
