“Fatherhood Panel” at Reid Temple Church Hosted By Former Washington Wizard Etan Thomas & NFL Hall of Famer Washington Redskins Darrell Green
 
(Glendale, MD)- Activist, NBA Veteran, and Acclaimed Author (Etan Thomas) will be hosting a panel at Reid Temple Church at 11400 Glendale Blvd in Glendale, MD on December 15th from 3pm-5pm. The panel is comprised of Actor from HBO original series "The Wire", former Redskins Player Khary Campbell, Maryland Terp Byron Muton, Poet Lamar Hill, Mega Pastor of First Baptist Church of Glenarden John Jenkins and many others. The Senior Pastor of Reid Temple is (Dr. Lee P. Washington)
 
They will discuss the challenges and triumphs of the modern day father. The event is "free" and open to the public.

About Etan Thomas- Etan Thomas is a former NBA player with a career averaging over 11 years. He has proven to be more than an athlete as he has published two critically acclaimed literary works. His accomplishments and recognition include being a recipient of the 2010 National Basketball Players Association Community Contribution Award as well as 2009 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Foundation Inc Legacy Award. Thomas actively supports President Obama's Fatherhood and Mentoring Initiatives. This NBA veteran continues to be an active voice involving both political and social issues.

Byron Mouton- is a retired American basketball player. He was a starter on the University of Maryland's 2002 national championship team and played professionally in several countries.


About Pastor Jenkins- Pastor John K. Jenkins Sr. serves as the senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Glenarden with campuses in Landover and Upper Marlboro, Md. Coupled with the support of his wife Trina, Pastor Jenkins has been the senior pastor of this thriving metropolitan church since 1989. He was licensed to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ in 1973, at the early age of 15. As a teenager, he was a much sought after youth preacher. In February 1987, Pastor Jenkins was called to serve as the senior pastor of the Union Bethel Baptist Church in King George, Va. He faithfully served there until December 1989, when he returned to First Baptist where he was installed as its seventh shepherd after the homegoing of his pastor and mentor, Dr. John W. Johnson.
