Memphis, Tennessee is well-known for its entertainment from Blues, to Rock & Roll, and Jazz, and on April 20th 2013, NuAge Marketing Firm, Inc. and BET Comic View Comedian Spank E. will bring the city a star-studded showcase entitled "Designs & Punchlines: Celebrity Fashion and Comedy Charity Event". This will be a fashionably amusing showcase in Memphis Tennessee, in support of Dress for Success- Memphis, a 501(c)3 non-profit helping women achieve financial independence by addressing their social and economic needs in relation to work, home, and community.
"Dress for Success - Memphis" works with low-income women referred to the organization from nearly 80 agencies that provide various job trainings and job readiness programs throughout the community. Clients are referred after completing job training or an educational program and are ready to begin seeking and interviewing for employment. Each Dress for Success client receives one suit when she has a job interview and an additional weeks’ worth of apparel once she becomes employed.
“Designs & Punchlines: Celebrity Fashion and Comedy Charity Event"is a celebrity and local leader(s) themed fashion show staging fashion(s) such as vintage, high fashion, wedding, plus size, an all male review, and “Recycle Me,” collection(s) along with musical Hip Hop pioneer Roxanne Shante' as the Fashion Commentator, Comedian Tony Tone; who is the ringmaster for the UniverSoul Circus, and Comedienne Vanessa Fraction who has been seen on television shows such as: BET Comic View, Comedy Central, Girls Behaving Badly, and Def Comedy Jam. We will be showcasing, emerging and seasoned Fashion Designers as they create their unique costumes and wardrobes, as well as a Vendor Marketplace.
