Writing Momma Publishing, LLC will be holding auditions for our inaugural production, The Grammar Girls LIVE!, on January 8 and 15, 2012 in Washington, DC. Email head shot and résumé to casting4aag@gmail.com for an appointment.
This one hour stage play will take place on March 2, 2013 in Clinton, MD.
The Grammar Girls LIVE! tells the story of a little girl who is worried about taking her school’s state test. Krissy, who is in the third grade, will take the test for the first time. While she is very strong in Math, Reading and Writing has been a challenge for her. It’s not until she meets four girls who teach her very simple strategies to help her build confidence in acing the test.
All actors must be 19 to 22 years old and range between 5’5” – 5’8”. This stage play is for non-union actors only.
Open roles include:
GWENDOLYN – African American female – mid-sized to full figure blues singer with a sassy, yet classy, flair and a great smile (great singing voice helpful)
G-NICE – African American female – petite to mid-sized Rap/Hip-Hop Artist with natural hair full of confidence and passion for grammar
GINGER – Caucasian female – mid-sized Country singer with long black hair who is bubbly and full of life (authentic Southern flair and authentic guitar playing skills helpful)
GALENA – Latino female – petite sized Cheerleader with long blonde hair who does not like to see little girls cry (gymnastic/cheerleader skills helpful)
