Radio One DC Station's Teaming Up With Whitman Walker Health for 27th Annual HIV/AIDS Walk
"Raising Awareness In The Fight Against HIV/AIDS"
Washington, DC-- Radio One DC Stations WKYS-FM (93.9); WMMJ-FM (102.3); WPRS-FM (Praise 104.1); WYCB-AM (Spirit 1340); and WOL-AM (1450) will host the 27th Annual AIDS Walk Washington on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013 at Freedom Plaza, 1455 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. Activities begin at 7:00 am. The 5K timed run begins at 9:15 am with the Walk stepping off at 9:20 am.
"At Radio One, we believe in serving our community by raising awareness to the fight against HIV/AIDS in the DC community and surrounding areas by annually supporting the Whitman Walker Health HIV AIDS WALK", said Chris Wegmann, Radio One Regional Vice President and DC Market Manager.
AIDS Walk Washington is a fundraising walk and 5K timed run benefiting and produced by Whitman-Walker Health, a non-profit community-based health organization which provides dependable, high-quality, comprehensive and accessible health care to those infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS. Last year, Whitman Walker Health raised more than $800,000 for HIV/AIDS research. All proceeds from Aids Walk Washington benefit HIV services at Whitman-Walker Health and more than a dozen Community Partner organizations.

The walk starts at 8:05am so please allow yourself time for parking it will be very congested!
