Discussion: “God’s Voice versus Satan’s Voice” Part I.
Knowing God’s voice (and Satan’s) requires having a copy of God’s complete word of truth: the Bible (Romans 10:17). Then, we must understand what God said, to whom he said it, and in what dispensational context. Romans 10:17 — So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
1. How do you hear the voice of God? Write or discuss your thoughts…
2. God’s voice fills you with peace, leads you, reassures you, enlightens you, encourages you, comforts you, calms you, and convicts you.
Satan’s voice rushes you, pushes you, frightens you, confuses you, discourages you, worries you, obsesses you, and corrects you.
How do you feel about these statements? It is TRUE/FALSE and how do you know? Write or discuss your thoughts…
3. God speaks to people in many different ways, but always compare it to agreeing with “THE WORD FROM THE BIBLE”. God will NOT contradict what the scripture says! It must be an agreement to what the word says.
Examples of how God speaks: Prayer/Intervention, Dreams/Visions, Godly Counsel, Spiritual Gifts, Audible Voice, People of Authority (Family – Parents, Employment – Bose, Government – President, Church – Pastor), Similitude or Images, Situations, and Circumstances, etc.
Give me a scenario that you thought God told you to do something?
Or would God tell you to play the lottery? Write or discuss your thoughts…
Read Psalms 119:105 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
Read John 10:4 and 27 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.
4. That moment you realize the voice you’re hearing isn’t God – it’s Satan. Have you ever found yourself shouting at other drivers or pedestrians from the safety of your car? Have you ever looked at what a friend has and thought, how does he/she deserve that? Why don’t I have that? Write or discuss your thoughts…
Satan challenges God’s declare TRUTH AND BOUNDARIES.
Example: I know it said that, but is that really what it meant? (Questions of doubt)
Read Genesis 3:1-6 He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”
Read Matthew 16:22 Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to you!”

Discussion: “God’s Voice versus Satan’s Voice” Part II.
There is a contrast between God and his children and Satan and his children. Read John 8:44-47, 51 = Children of Satan do his will (deeds, desires)!
Read John 1:9-13 = Those who receive Jesus (True Light) become children of God by the will of God – they do the will of God (Matthew 7:21) to enter Heaven!
1. Do you agree with what these Bible scriptures are saying? Write or discuss your thoughts…
Matthew 6:24 No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
2. Both God and Satan want to win souls! God’s word is there to convert the soul and to give one hope in heaven! Satan’s word is in the world all around us and attempts to deceive and destroy!
Can you tell the difference between the voice of God and the voice of Satan? Write or discuss your thoughts…
(Read Bible verses describing God’s voice and Satan’s voice)

Read Matthew 16:22 Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to you!”

The children of God are all who hear His voice and follow Him! Read (John 10:27 and Colossians 1:13)
Do you hear the words of God or the words of Satan? Write or discuss your thoughts…
4. Today, our world accepts what is WRONG is RIGHT, and what is RIGHT is WRONG!
Do you know how to discern what is God’s voice?
Characteristics of God’s Voice –
A. God is ordered and structured! Confusion is NOT God! (Colossians 3:15)
B. God’s voice doesn’t bring fear. These are not decisions that make you feel scared or fearful (2 Timothy 1)
C. God does not rule by quick deadlines. (Isaiah 28:16)
D. God speaks good things! God always speaks in a positive way! Be careful of things birthed out of fear. (Philippians 4:8)
When God speaks it will NOT contradict what the word says.
Example: God said to me that I shouldn’t pay tithes this month because my rent is short. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, Numbers 18:26)
Characteristics of Satan's Voice –
A. Satan challenges God’s declare TRUTH and BOUNDARIES. Example: I know it said that, but is that really what it meant? Questions of doubt. (Genesis 3:1-6)
B. Satan's goal is to pull you away from God’s divine purpose and plan for your life! (Matthew 16:21-28)
C. Satan speaks when you are spiritually or physically weak! (Luke 4:1-3) – Never make major decisions when you feel spiritually or physically weak!
D. Satan speaks to appeal to your flesh. (Luke 4:5) – Don’t feed your will (emotions), be careful of what your body says!
Examples: Misinterpreted scriptures, sex, radio (what you listen to), etc. If you hear a voice and it pleases the flesh, it is a problem.
E. Satan's voice is an accusation. Satan’s voice is an accuser of accusations.
Definition: Accusation – A Charge or claim that someone has done something illegal or wrong.
Be careful anytime you make or raise an accusation that can not be proven.
Satan will work on your emotions, so get your proof, GET THE FACTS!
