#1 British Chevening Scholarships (UK)

The UK government’s global scholarship program, Chevening Scholarships, is awarded to outstanding scholars from Chevening-eligible countries around the globe. Typically, awards are for a one-year Master’s degree. Many of the Chevening Scholarships cover a living allowance at a set rate (for one individual), tuition fees, an economy class return airfare to the UK, and additional money to cover essential expenditure.

#2 DAAD Scholarships with Relevance to Developing Countries (Germany)

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) awards scholarships for different postgraduate courses with special relevance to developing countries at German Universities. This is an international scholarship for students and professionals from various developing countries including Africa, Central America, South America, Pacific Islands, Asia, Eastern Europe, Central Europe, etc. DAAD scholarship aids selected programs with a variety of full as well as partial scholarships.

#3 Danish Government Scholarships for Non-EU/EEA Students  (Denmark)

The Danish Ministry of Education provides yearly awards to non-EEA and non-EEU international students in order to help them pursue any higher education program at specific Danish Universities. The scholarship can be awarded as full or partial tuition fee waivers and/or grants towards covering your living costs.

#4 Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Programme (France)

Eiffel scholarship program was initiated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a key tool to enable higher education institutions in France to bring together outstanding students from across the globe to pursue any Masters or Ph.D. degree. Eiffel scholarship-holders receive monthly allowance as well as other expenses such as return trips, health insurance, and cultural activities. However, it does not cover tuition fees.

Holland Scholarship targets international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who are looking forward to doing their Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree at participating Universities in Holland. The scholarship amounts to € 5,000 in which students will receive in the first year of their studies.

International students are welcomed in Holland and offered partial and fully funded scholarships to study for free in Holland Universities every year.

#6 Italian Government Bursaries for Foreign Students (Italy)

The Italian Government provides scholarships for studying in Italy both to Italian students who reside abroad and foreign students. The scholarships are provided for University degree courses, Art and music courses, Advanced vocational training, Master’s Degree courses, Ph.D. Courses, etc.  It is possible only to apply for three, six, or nine-month scholarships.

The Swedish Institute gives scholarships in Sweden to brilliant international students from developing countries who are looking forward to studying at Sweden Universities.  Scholarships that are offered are intended for studies in Sweden and focus primarily on the master’s level. The scholarship covers tuition fees, living expenses, insurance, and some travel grant.

#8 Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships for Foreign Students (Switzerland)

The Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships enables students from more than 180 countries across the globe to pursue a Ph.D. or post-doctorate program in any authorized research institute across Switzerland.  This scholarship covers a monthly allowance, tuition fees, lodging allowance, health insurance, etc.

#9 VLIR-UOS Scholarship Awards (Belgium)

VLIR-UOS grants scholarships to international students from more than 54 developing countries of the world including Asia, Latin America, Africa, etc. who want to apply for any development-related Master’s program or a training course taught in English at universities in Belgium. The scholarships cover tuition fees, allowance, accommodation, travel costs, and other program-related costs.

#10 Amsterdam Excellence Scholarships (Netherlands)

The Amsterdam Excellence Scholarships (AES) offers awards to students who are exceptionally talented and are pursuing any Master’s degree taught at the University of Amsterdam. This scholarship is particularly offered to students who reside outside the European Union. This is a full scholarship of €25,000 which covers tuition and living expenses.

#11 Bologna University Study Grants for International Students (Italy)

The University of Bologna provides educational awards to deserving students at an international level. This award is offered to the students who want to pursue a Bachelor’s, Masters or Single Cycle Degree Programs offered at the University of Bologna. The scholarship is granted for a period of one year and is worth approximately €11,059.

#12 Developing Solutions Scholarships at the University of Nottingham (UK)

The Developing Solutions Scholarships are international awards offered to students from India or Africa, or students from the Commonwealth developing countries who want to pursue a Master’s program taught at the University of Nottingham. The students ought to demonstrate a passion for bringing a positive change in the development of their own country. Every year, 105 scholarships are awarded – 75 scholarships will cover 50% of the tuition fee while 30 scholarships will cover the full tuition fee.

#13 Erik Bleumink Scholarships at University of Groningen (Netherlands)

The Erik Bleumink Fund Scholarships are provided for any 1 year or 2 years Master’s degree program offered at the University of Groningen.  The scholarship covers the tuition fee plus the expenses of international travel, books, subsistence, and health insurance.

#14 ETH Excellence Scholarships (Switzerland)

ETH Zurich supports bright students who wish to pursue a Master’s degree at ETH with two scholarship programs: The Master Scholarship Program (MSP) and the Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Program (ESOP). The Excellence Scholarship consists of cost-covering living expenses and study expenses (CHF 11,000 per semester) as well as a tuition fee waiver.  The Master Scholarship Program consists of a partial stipend for study and living expenses (CHF 6,000 per semester) as well as a tuition fee waiver.

#15 Gates Cambridge Scholarships (UK)

Gates Cambridge Scholarships are offered to exceptional students who reside anywhere outside the U.K. to help them pursue a Ph.D. in any course offered by the University of Cambridge. The scholarship covers the full cost of studying at the University of Cambridge, namely the University Composition Fee and College fees, one economy single airfare at both the beginning and end of the course, a maintenance allowance for a single student, and inbound visa costs.

#16 Leiden University Excellence Scholarships (Netherlands)

The Leiden University Excellence Scholarship Program (LExS) is targeting outstanding Non-EU/EEA students enrolling in a master’s degree program offered at Leiden University. The structure of scholarships comes in the form of the following: €10,000 of the tuition fee, €15,000 of the tuition fee, or total tuition fee minus the home fee.

#17 Lund University Global Scholarships for Non-EU/EEA Students (Sweden)

The Lund University Global Scholarship program offers a grant to high achievers who reside in any country outside the European Union or Switzerland and wish to pursue an undergraduate or graduate-level degree taught at Lund University. Awards may provide 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% of the total tuition fee.

#18 Scholarship in Netherlands Radboud University (Netherlands)

The Netherlands Radboud Scholarship provides funding to outstanding students from non-EEA countries who want to pursue any Master’s degree in Radboud Nijmegan University and the course will be taught in the English language. The Radboud scholarship of Netherlands sponsors partial tuition fees. This Scholarship of Netherlands (Radboud Scholarship) also sponsors the cost of the Study VISA for the Netherlands, health insurance, liability insurance, and Netherlands student residence permit.

#19 Rhodes Scholarships at University of Oxford (UK)

Rhodes Scholarship was established in the will of Cecil Rhodes in 1902. It is the oldest and most probably the most prestigious international scholarship program all around the globe.   The Rhodes Scholarships are postgraduate awards that aim to help exceptional international students from selected countries at the University of Oxford. Rhodes Scholarship covers all university fees, health insurance, personal stipend, and airfare to and from the home country of the student.

#20 Sheffield Hallam University Transform Together Scholarships (UK)

Transform Together scholarships are granted to non-UK and international students who want to pursue a full-time undergraduate or Ph.D. program at Sheffield Hallam University. Half fee waiver (50%) is available for postgraduate courses and for each year of an undergraduate course.

#21 University of Lausanne Master’s Grant for Foreign Students (Switzerland)

The University of Lausanne in Switzerland provides grants to students who want to pursue a graduate-level degree at the University of Lausanne via the UNIL Master’s Grants. This is an international scholarship, and the amount of the grant is CHF 1,600. per month for the duration of the program.

#22 University of Maastricht High Potential Scholarships (Netherlands)

The University of Maastricht High Potential Scholarships is given by the UM Scholarship Fund with the aim of motivating and encouraging talented students from outside the EEA to follow a master’s program at UM.  The scholarships include living expenses, tuition fees, visa costs, and insurance.

#23 University of Twente Scholarships (Netherlands)

University Twente Scholarships (UTS) grants scholarships to brilliant students from EEA and EU as well as non-EEA and non-EU areas, who want to pursue a Master’s degree at the University of Twente. The scholarship amount varies from € 6,000 – € 25,000 per year.

#24 Utrecht University Excellence Scholarships (Netherlands)

The Utrecht Excellence Scholarship offers awards for students who wish to attend a Master’s program at Utrecht University. The scholarship can be awarded both as tuition fees or tuition fees plus 11.000 euro living expenses.
