Non-County Open Grant Opportunities 

• Ceramic and Glass Industry Foundation (CGIF): Project Grants: Applications are due August 31, 2026. Funding requests should be directly applicable to expanding materials science education or training the next generation of glass and ceramic professionals. Maximum award is $2,500.
• Interledger Foundation (ILF): Interledger on Campus (IoC) Mini-Grant Program: Applications are due July 31, 2026. Funding supports student-led clubs, societies, and associations affiliated with universities, colleges, and vocational institutions. Projects should focus on student-led innovation, learning, and community engagement projects involving open payments and digital inclusion. Maximum award is $5000.
• First Responders Children's Foundation (FRCF): Community Engagement Grant: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, first come first served until funds are spent. This program helps foster healthy relationships between first responders and the children in the communities they serve, while also inspiring a new generation that may have an interest in a first responder career. Maximum award is $5000.
• Tuberculosis (TB) Elimination Alliance: Mini-Grants Program: Applications are due July 24, 2026. TEA is offering Mini-Grants to organizations serving communities at increased risk for TB. Applicants must be from or working directly with organizations that serve communities at increased risk for TB. Maximum award is $15,000.
• Toshiba America Foundation (TAF): Grants for Grades K-5: Applications are due October 1, 2026. Grants support classroom teachers who have ideas for their students to get excited about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This program is dedicated to supporting project-based learning with tangible outcomes. Maximum award is $1,000.
• Morgan Stanley Foundation: Morgan Stanley Alliance for Children's Mental Health: Children's Mental Health Innovation Awards: Applications are due July 24, 2026. Grants support direct service nonprofit organizations to implement new or piloted projects that will help address the far-reaching challenge of stress, anxiety, depression or other mental health issues in children and young adults. Maximum award is $100,000.
• Integra Foundation: Grants: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. The foundation focuses on medical education in regenerative medicine, plastic and reconstructive surgery, wound care, neurosurgery, neurotrauma, and neuromonitoring. Grants are for projects supporting people affected by diseases and conditions within these focus areas, including patient support organizations and patient camps.
• PCs for People: Partner Organizations: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. This program provides low-cost technology via in-kind donations to organizations with tight budgets.
• USA Lacrosse Grants: Application deadline 7/31/2026. Grants support organizations buy equipment, develop adaptive programming, and provide stipends to coaches for professional development.
• Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) and Uber: Health Access Fund: Application due June 22, 2026. Funding supports no-cost rides via Uber Health to medical appointments and essential services. Eligible organizations are nonprofit hospitals, health centers, and community health organizations serving economically vulnerable patients. Average award is $50,000.
• The Blackrock Foundation: Future Builders: Application due July 10, 2026. Nonprofits applications should propose worker training or capacity‑building solutions aligned to skilled trades workforce development. The maximum grant is $1,000,000.
• 2026 ASPCA Grants for Shelters and Spay/Neuter Clinics: Application due June 26, 2026. Nonprofits may apply to one of five categories: critical shelter infrastructure, strengthening shelter essentials, increasing spay/neuter surgeries, spay/neuter capital projects, or spay/neuter special projects. Grants range awards from $10,000 - $100,000, depending on category.
• JA Community Foundation Grants FY 2026: Letters of Intent due June 25, 2026. Nonprofits may apply to identify and invest in solutions that meet the needs, interests, and concerns of the Japanese American community. The maximum grant is $50,000.
• Gigi's Dog Transport Van Grant Program FY 2026: Applications accepted quarterly with due dates of June 30 and September 30, 2026. Nonprofit and municipal shelter may apply to purchase a transport van. The set award is $80,000.
• Citi Foundation Blueprint for Housing: Housing Supply RFP FY 2026: Letters of Inquiry due July 1, 2026. 501(c)3 nonprofits may apply to help scale the supply of affordable homes in the communities that need them most. The maximum grant is $1,000,000. Montgomery County is a priority location.
• US DOJ Office on Violence Against Women FY2026 Funding Opportunities (Multiple programs): Application due dates vary by program, with the first due July 2, 2026. Discretionary grant opportunities are now open on cybercrimes, financial assistance for victims, justice for families, legal assistance, rural programs, response to domestic violence, and transitional housing. The award max ranges from $150,000 to $1,500,000.
• AstraZeneca Foundation US ACT on Health Equity Community Solutions Challenge FY 2026: Nonprofits, academic institutions, and schools may apply for support to advance health equity by addressing the social, cultural, and linguistic needs of communities facing barriers to care and opportunity. The maximum grant is $30,000.
• Nature's Path Organic Foods Gardens for Good Grant Program FY 2026: Applications due July 7, 2026. Registered nonprofits may apply to support projects that provide accessible, healthy, organic food for communities.  The maximum grant is $3,000.
• National Park Service FY2025 Historic Preservation Fund Underrepresented Communities Grants: Applications due July 7, 2026. Nonprofits and local municipalities may apply to support projects that expand listings in the National Register of Historic Places to include communities that are currently underrepresented. The maximum grant is $100,000.
• Charles Schwab Foundation Schwab Moneywise Momentum Grants FY 2026: Letters of Interest due July 31, 2026. Nonprofits may apply to support fresh thinking and creative solutions for direct financial education or educator capacity building. The award range is $50,000 to $250,000.
• Union Home Foundation Grants FY 2026: Applications due August 15, 2026. 501(c)3 nonprofits may apply for projects focusing on financial literacy and housing. Typical past grants have been between $2,500 and $10,000.
• Robert Lehman Foundation FY 2026: Applications due September 15, 2026 (and in April). 501(c)3 nonprofits may apply to support exhibitions, art education, art lectureships, or capital projects. Past average grants have been around $35,000.
• Terra Foundation for American Art Convening Grants FY 2027 (Collections and Exhibition Grants also available): Letters of Inquiry due September 28, 2026. Nonprofits and academic institutions may apply to support conversations, symposia, and workshops that stimulate interdisciplinary and intercultural exchange related to the visual arts of the United States and the Indigenous arts of North America. The maximum grant is $25,000.
• Buckley Moss Foundation for Children's Education Teacher Grant FY 2026: Applications due September 30, 2026. Nonprofits and preK-12 schools/school districts may apply for projects that integrate visual arts into education in the school classroom setting, with a special focus on those who learn differently. The maximum grant is $1,000.
• Businessolver Foundation Grants FY 2026: Applications due October 2, 2026. 501(c)3 nonprofits may apply for support in the areas of mental health; science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and career education; and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB). Average grants are around $5,000.
• Small Business Transition Grant for New Entrepreneurs: Forecasted to open in November 2026 with a tentative due date of January 5, 2027. Small businesses may be eligible to submit Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I, and Fast-Track (NIH only) grant applications.
• American Osteopathic Foundation Caring for Communities Grant FY 2026: Applications accepted on a rolling basis. Osteopathically centric nonprofit health centers may apply for projects that address health disparities and provide care to underserved communities. The maximum grant is $25,000.
• Amgen Foundation U.S. Healthcare Donations FY 2026: Applications accepted on a rolling basis. A wide variety of nonprofits, hospitals, universities, patient groups, academic institutions, and other organizations may apply for contributions, grant awards, or in-kind payments in the support or education of health care.
• Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Foundation (M&M Fisher Foundation) FY 2026: Applications accepted on a rolling basis. Nonprofits may apply for support to enrich humanity by strengthening and empowering children and families in need. FY2025 grants ranged from $50,000 to $677,000.

  • Players Health Foundation Community Sports Access and Safety Grant Program FY 2026: Applications due June 15, 2026. Nonprofit and community-based youth sports organizations may apply to remove financial barriers to participation and protecting every athlete in their care. The maximum grant is $5,000. 
  • Stranahan Foundation Early Childhood Education Grant Program FY 2026: Letters of Intent due June 18, 2026. Nonprofits, public schools, and municipal agencies may apply to increase access to high-quality early care and education for children from birth to age five, especially those from low-income families.

  Maryland Affordable Housing Trust (MAHT)
  Safe and Secure Water Access in Homes Grant Program 
  
  Application Competition 

  The Maryland Affordable Housing Trust (MAHT) will open the Round 52 (SFY27) application competition for the Safe and Secure Water Access in Homes Grant Program on May 29, 2026.

  The Safe and Secure Water Access in Homes Grant Program goal is to provide funding to resolve issues related to water insecurity in the home that impact the overall quality of life for individuals and families statewide. This special grant program gives support to plumbing rehabilitation activities for households with incomes of less than 50% of the greater of the statewide or area median income, adjusted for household size.  Preference is given to households with incomes of less than 30% of the greater of the statewide or area median income, adjusted for household size.

  MAHT funds can be used for:

  Costs incurred by a non-profit organization, county and/or a local jurisdiction to implement a scattered site plumbing rehabilitation project for eligible owner-occupied single family homes. Types of rehabilitation activities include the following:

  • Repair of non-functioning indoor bathrooms and/or kitchens that provide/restore hot and cold running water
  • Repair of non-functioning indoor bathrooms and/or kitchens that provide a working bathtub or shower, a flushable toilet, a sink with a faucet, or a water heater
  • Installation or replacement of wells and/or septic systems 
  • Connection to public water/sewer systems
  • Activities to improve water quality (e.g., install water treatment systems, replacement of corroded or defective pipes, etc.)

  Who can apply? Eligible applicants include:

  • Nonprofit Community-Based Organizations (501c3)
  • County and Local Government Agencies
