Lilly Foundation Scholarship Opportunity 2026

To extend Lilly’s charitable reach and impact, the Eli Lilly and Company Foundation (Lilly Foundation) was established in 1968 and is supported by donations from Eli Lilly and Company.

The Foundation is a tax-exempt, private foundation supporting programs that align with its philanthropic priorities.

Global health

This focus area aims to support U.S. charitable organizations involved in charitable efforts to improve access to quality health care for resource-limited communities in low- and lower-middle-income countries and in the United States. This work by these charitable organizations focuses on closing gaps in quality health care by improving access, bringing services closer to where people live and addressing the high burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in resource-limited settings. To the extent permissible, priority is given to charitable efforts related to cardiometabolic health in these communities.

K-12 STEM education

This focus area aims to support U.S. charitable organizations involved in efforts to expand opportunities for students from low-income communities in Marion County, Indiana, by supporting programs that create stronger pathways into STEM education. Efforts are focused on K-12 initiatives, particularly during the critical middle school years.

Economic mobility

This focus area aims to support U.S. charitable organizations with charitable and educational programs that strengthen workforce readiness, expand postsecondary and skills-based educational pathways and promote housing stability to support long-term prosperity in Marion County, Indiana, with the goal of increasing economic opportunity for low-income communities and advancing community well-being.

Strengthening communities

The Lilly Foundation also supports efforts to strengthen communities through matching eligible Lilly employee giving and the support of U.S. organizations involved in responsive disaster relief and targeted charitable community development initiatives addressing urgent local needs.

Lilly Foundation open call 2026

The Lilly Foundation has launched its 2026 open call for applications.

Through its charitable grants, the Lilly Foundation supports U.S. charitable organizations involved in permissible charitable efforts that align with its focus areas of Global Health, K-12 STEM Education and Economic Mobility.

Pre-applications will be accepted June 1 through July 3, 2026.
