Maryland District 26 Delegate Tony Knotts, is hosting “It’s a Family Affair” Community Day and Backpack giveaway for youth in conjunction with community partners, Cloverleaf Standardbred Owners' Association, Rosecroft Raceway and, Old School Boxing.

This event will take place on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Rosecroft Raceway, 6336 Rosecroft Drive, Fort Washington, Maryland 20744. The event will include, LIVE Entertainment with a DJ, Children’s Play Station with Games, Books, Moon Bounce, Face Painting, Pony Rides, backpacks (while supplies last).

Delegate Knotts and the event sponsors hope to provide backpacks to school-age children as the school year approaches, while also providing fun and entertainment.

The IABT / IABT Multisport Racing Youth & Junior Tri-Conference® / Expo*Event is the 1st Youth and Junior Tri-Conference in the world and the first one held on an Historically black college and university (HBCU) campus! This event is DOUBLY Historical in nature.

The goal of the Conference is to unveil a pipeline of missed opportunities for all, especially black youth and those living in urban communities regarding multisport events and the multisport industry.

The conference is a weekend extravaganza! The Conference & Expo will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 on the campus of Morgan State University and then on Sunday, July 15, 2018, the Aquathon Splash N Dash Event plus 5K Run will take place 7:30 am – 10:30 am at Walter P. The Prince George's County Drug Policy Coalition, Inc.'s (PGCDPC) 7th Annual Empowering Future Leaders Scholarship Breakfast will take place on Friday, June 22, 2018 at the Harborside Hotel in Oxon Hill, Maryland. PGCDPC will award scholarships to students in Council District 8. The students who received these scholarships had to reside in Prince George's County, Maryland District 8 (Camp Springs, Clinton, Forest Heights, Fort Washington, Glassmanor, Marlow Heights, Oxon Hill). Over the past six years The Prince George's County Drug Policy Coalition, Inc. has given over $100,000.00 in scholarships to students, making a tremendous difference in the lives of the youth in Prince George’s County.
