  • Description: The Young Adults in Christian Ministries of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in the Washington Area are hosting a benefit concert “Hope for Haiti 2010”. This event will be free and open to the public. Monetary donations will be collected and 100% of the proceeds collected during the concert will be distributed to the following organizations: Doctors without Borders, Yele Haiti (Wyclef Jean’s charity), and the A. M. E. and C. M. E. Churches.Hope for Haiti will feature contemporary gospel recording artists– Ahnwar Yancey and Ashia Borders; gospel Hip Hop artists – The Elect, Baxter and The Apostle; The ElectroKoustic Band, The First Baptist Church of Brentwood Choir; and other special guests.

The purpose of this trip is to offer a helping hand to the less fortunate on the island. Our trip was originally planned early last year.The projects that we are undertaking, is the distribution of well needed medical supplies to clinics and hospitals. Numerous school supplies will be delivered to hundreds of elementary school children on the island. The distribution of food will be provided to the local food programs and homeless shelters. The CLW will have to pay for cost of shipping and handling; therefore, monetary donations are in high demand.The purpose of this letter is to request your assistance in helping the CLW raise the necessary funds to make this mission trip possible.
