Ferrell (pictured left), known to the world as Rev, Minister or Pastor Ferrell, has recorded with gospel giants such as the late James Moore, Jeffrey LaValley, Esther Smith. He has served as Executive Producers for several recordings that have been enjoyed by many.
From there, the musical ministry and journey began. Ferrell’s first major independent CD was the sellout “Magnify His Name” in 1995. In 2006, the “Making the Band" MTV television show produced by Puff Daddy (P-Diddy) chose one of the songs off this CD for their international television show much to the surprise of Ferrell, which found out much later after the show had aired.
DMG opened its roster to all genres of music in 2010. The purpose was to become more available to artists with gifted talents that just didn’t sing gospel but also had the art and passion to work with a heart of gold. “A mind, desire and loyalty go a long way with me” said me Mr. Ferrell.
In 2011, DMG released their first Christian hip hop rap artist “J.Spence” with national distribution. Currently, DMG is promoting their newest release of Lo-key (pictured right) “I Am Who I Am” a Hip-Hop Rapper from Dallas, Texas. Diversity Music group has also signed Billy Young - an original member of the world renowned Gap Band - as well as Lawyer “Olivia" Turner, whose single will drop in late April 2013 “Jesus”. Following him will be gospel singer and actor Stanley Watson from Norfolk VA.
DMG has created a roster of artists dating back from the late 90’s with Praise II “Heal the Land” Live in Chicago, Chicago First Jurisdiction Mass Choir COGIC, Bishop James and Kathy Bowman & the Antioch Sanctuary Choir featuring Dorinda Clark “Please Stay”.
It should be noted that DMG will be releasing some of Jerome L. Ferrell’s never released music very soon on the album “Holy” with the Lighthouse Choir, NEX Level “Sure Been Good to Me”, a group formed by Mr. Ferrell in Phoenix, Arizona. Also projects such as Jerome L. Ferrell & Lighthouse Choir 25th Reunion recording and Jerome L. Ferrell & the Western New York Mass Choir of the Gospel Music Workshop of America “Where Do Broken Hearts Go” featuring Esther Smith and Grammy Award Winner Keith Pringle.
DMG just announced the signing of a new major distribution deal with a company in Memphis, Tennessee. According to DMG a new host of un-tapped artists will be unleashed to the world, taking music to the next level….
