10th Annual National Executive Youth Leadership Summit

“The Leader Within”

Capitol Hill

Saturday, May 2, 2015 – 8:30 a.m.3:00p.m.

 

In 2004, the Executive Youth Leadership Summit (EYLS) was established and have served thousands of youth and parents.

The NEYLS is held on the first Saturday of May in Washington, D.C. on Capitol Hill.  The summit is generously sponsored by various Members of Congress and hosted by Friends of Chonya Johnson, who are public servants/leaders from congressional offices, federal/state agencies, nonprofit organizations and the business community in the Washington DC Metro area. 

The purpose of NEYLS is to promote civic participation, leadership development and provide resources to educate, motivate and empower youth to reach their full potential.  

Our participants will have an exciting opportunity to learn from international - national leaders, public officials, and other youth leaders from around the country.

Summit goals include helping prepare the next generation of leaders and identifying ways to improve their academic performance and civic participation.

·        Discover & Learn your unique leadership style, identify qualities of effective leaders and learn 1st hand how government works. Learn leadership skills that can be used immediately to make an impact in your community and school.

 ·        Network& Share ideas with youth leaders from around the United States and share ideas that will spark innovation and inspire you to work toward your dreams in your community and schools.

 ·        Achieve your goals! Conceive It! Believe It! Achieve It! Achieve the goals you have set and learn an easy way to keep track of your goals. 

Who attends the Summit?

200 youth leaders (10–18 yrs. old) and 50 parents participate.

 Submit the following:

A signed application; (1st Come 1st Serve – due by 4/15/14) I  $30 per person for café lunch; and materials

ACADEMIC SUCCESS

Discuss ways to enhance and improve academic performance, obtain tools and resources to support youth success.

CIVIC PARTICIPATION

Get Involved! Learn cool ways to impact your community and school. Meet and ask community organizers questions.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Get Started! Youthpreneurs share stories and helpful resources on being an entrepreneur.

FINANCIAL LITERACY

Money matter – spend it wise, important information on how to save and invest the right way.
